Fanless build

Thread Starter
Working on parts for a fanless rig. I've seen various fanless parts here and there, and basically I'm looking for some suggestions as to which fanless parts are good. There isn't really a set budget, if I had to give a budget it would be around $800. Try to balance fanless and performance.

Here's what I came up with so far.

CPU - Athlon II X2 250e
CPU cooler - Noctua NH-U12P (fanless)
Mobo - Gigabyte 890FXA-UD5
GPU - Powercolor HD5750 Go! Green
PSU - Seasonic X-400
SSD - Crucial C300 64GB
Case - Fractal Design R3 (fanless)

Do not recommend watercooling as I don't want it. Also please do not give newegg links

Why does it have to be fanless? For noise? An inaudible build is much easier to achieve.

Ok, what would you suggest for an inaudible build then? I want it to make zero noise, that's pretty much the only concern.

And it's a fun little project.

You will not be able to hear good undervolted fans at 600-800RPMs. However, these will REALLY help with heat. A little airflow goes a very long way.

On my HTPC and server builds, the only audible components are the HDDs.

Um, did you read this mate?

Here's a close-up of that IMPORTANT NOTICE. Take heed, folks - like most fanless units, this puppy will not be able to help you cool off your case. In fact, yours truly would strongly suggest that the presence of a fanless unit makes it all the more vital to insure your case has some decent airflow moving through it by other means. This includes setting up a positive or negative pressure situation whereby you can still get some air moving through the power supply. Fanless or not, you still need to provide for the cooling of this here power supply if you want it to stay working.

Undervolted fans, is that a lot of hassle? Never did that before. How about very low RPM high quality fans (gentle typhoons?).
