that all depends on what you plan on doing with your rig. fill out the rest of your computer info and maybe give us a little insight on what you plan on doing with your machine to make you question if your current one is enough.

Hey, i'm new here too. Without knowing all your specs i would image 300W is not sufficient for overclocking or running several components, drives and cards. Minimum i would say is 400W...

Well if you will be doing overclocking and and gaming with a powerfull g-card you will need to upgrade your PSU to atleast a 500 watt to be safe and one with a good and stable 12v rail such as a Tagan PSU. But if you are doing general use with a computer you wont need this Upgrade.

An OCed sys with 1 power depandant vid card should have 24a or more total on the 12+v rail(s).
The "Watt" rating of the PS is misleading.
Example of some of what I have to prove a point.
TT 420 w/ 18a
Antec 350 SP 10a+15a 25a total
Antec SL400 18a
Generic 500w 16a

Check out the Aspire PSUs. They're not too pricey, very reliable, and some of the higher end models look awesome and have fan controllers on them.

Check it out Aspire PSUs

i've got a 420watt, 13A on the 12v......

yet OC'ed from i think 1.4/1.6ghz to 2.4ghz...

2HD's, 1 optical, x800xtpe, 2 case fans, huge cpu HS fan....... somehow the power works!

i want a certain OCZ though... earlier today i read something about psu's surging when they die, causing damage to parts
