psu question - Page 2

Any PSU can cause a surge when the power regulation components fail the trick is to get a good quality PSU which is less likely to fail due to overdrawing from components to start with.

Anything around 500watt from Tagan, OCZ, Enermax should do the trick

One of the most important things not to skimp on is a good PSU. If you cant get good strong, clean and stable power to your components, you cant expect it to be stable.

I upgraded my stock 350w to an Enermax 600w because my 12v rails were sagging to 11.8v and lower.

If you can stretch your budget a little further this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817101516
or
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817194003

I would go for one of these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817104155 oh i have the 22amps on the 12v rail is awsome

these would perform better than the aspire

Out of all the components in your system your PSU really should be top quality. It s the thing that provides the juice to your whole system pick a dead goose to start with and you will regret it for a long time.

Just look at the ampages for the +12V rails on them compared to the aspire

Trying to oc youe EMachine isn't going to work due to its blocked out bios controls.
Confirm this first by entering bios (F1 or F2 during bootup) and see what oc options you may have, if any.
