So my computer thought it would be fun to crash last night, as a result my bigadv won't finish until 4pm GMT frown.gif sorry

I've set the VM to start when windows does, but then it just sits there. I really need to figure out how to run in SU mode so i can start the 8 core hack and FAH, it's only a VM so security isn't really a primary concern.

Super user. It's frowned upon in the linux community because it's less secure, but i want it to be automated.

At the moment i have to type in my password to run the script to fool it into thinking i have 8 cores, unlike regular SMP in windows where it used to just run. There is a way, but i haven't been able to do it yet.

oh well I know most linux distros have a way for you to bypass logging in to a normal user and manually login to root.

Linux gives you the tools to do everything, i just don't know how to use them yet. lol

This is the first crash i've ever had though. It was a hard-lock too, not just a restart.

That sucks. I believe KDE desktop environment still allows you to login to root and your root password. I think Gnome (Ubuntu Default) prevents root login.

Thanks, off to KDE i go. I'll probably go with KDE3 as it's lighter on resources than 4.

No problem. Personally I'm going to try and get my Arch Linux setup back online. The GRUB bootloader keeps going weird and re-instating Windows Bootloader.

So, here's an update. When I got the 950 back online, I thought it was all good to go. I got to work this morning, and there was a message that fah quit running. BAHHH... so, lost bonus pts on one bigadv, then lost like 4 days of folding.

So what's the deal with the chimp challenge? Does the TC stop for May?
