Are there any tricks to get a ati card to fold better? Would turning off aero do any thing?

Less you use it the more PPD it will get. So if you're on it all the time turning off aero may help.

Setting affinity helps my Nvidia cards especially if I'm folding smp on the same machine. Set other processes tab in task manager for as many processes as you can for the first 3 cores leaving one core open to feed the GPU.

Interested in what other replies you get to this. Have a 5850 I'm not currently folding on but plan to start soon.

Related can I use V7 to fold on my ATI card while using 6.34 for my smp ?

There goes my top 20, eh?

Oh well. I'll bring them all back up for foldathons and whatnot, but yikes it's hot... also, any of those machines are still available to sub in if needed.
How hot is too hot? It's really cooled down in the UK these past few days. It's a nice change.

We also have some pretty epic looking clouds, unfortunate I never take my camera to work. lol

It was 34 C yesterday, which is about par for the course here in the summer... Add the humidity, and it's stinkin' hot.

The room where the computers are is like an oven... mostly from the 950

Just having the 2600k going will be good for ambient temps.

Yeah, that's pretty hot. lol

30 is way too hot for me. The worst thing is when it's hot and rainy, then i can't open my windows.

You guys/gals have crawlspaces under your PCs? If so you may be able to utilize the cooler air from there to aid in cooling your monsters.

Nice idea... my TC rig sits on a concrete floor, so that's a no go.

wonder if you could get a long copper tube to coil on the ground as part of your WC loop ...the concrete stays cooler than the air if its the slab on the ground.for that matter if you could drill in to a crawlspace below and make a loop into the crawlspace. If I produced as much heat as you guys did I would defiantly try for a subterranean cooling solution...Kinda like geothermal...the temps from the computers wouldnt need such and extensive system but could be done. even boring through a wall to the outside under a shady spot on the house would decrease the thermals your fighting inside..

People have buried miles of copper coils 10' under their back yard for water-cooling. It works pretty well.
