BeQuiet PSU wont power up MSI K8T Neo after shut down

PC config:
CPU Athlon64 3000+
GPU Ati Saphire X800
RAM 1024 Kingstion
PSU BeQuiet BQT P6 Pro 430W
MB MSI K8T Neo

I replaced my PSU recently and now i experience a realy strange problem.
The PSU runs fine the system is booting up perfectly but wenn i do a shut down by windows it shuts down as it shuld an there is my problem. It wont boot up again by pressing the power button.
I startet removing the power cord from the PSU but nothing happened. then i opened the case and removed the power plug from the mobo and i bridged the the power on pin to ground and the PSU startet spinning. I pluged the cord back on the mobo and suddenly the PC is powering up and booting fine.

My first thougt was that there ist a problem with the power button. i testet that an could exclude this.
When the plug is on pluged on the mobo and i trie to bridge the power on(green to black) pins from behind it wont work. Something prewents the PSU to fire up after a normal shut down.
I realy drives me crazy to open my case and pull the mobo plug every time i want to start my PC.

I would be greatfull if somebody could help me out on this!!

Welcome to the forum mate At the top of the screen you will see "usr cp" in there you can fill out ya details.

This does seem to be a strange problem and could be any number of things. Have you got another PSU around you could use to test and see if it soes it with that one as well. Lots of troubleshooting needs to happen here. Are all of the connections in the plug in good condition, is there something a little loose maybe.

Hi Guys!

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I did some Trouble Shooting my self before i wrote this thread!

First i checked all pins on this 24 to 20 pin adaptor. I have my old psu (also a bequiet) that worked fine with my power button and my mobo.

Then there is another strange thing. When i pull the mobo plug and replug it th PC is fireing up right away. Without pushing any buttons. while it is booting i can shut it down by pressing the power button again and the start it with the power button. Only wenn i let load winXP and do a windows shut down (initiated also with the power button) then i am unable to get it running agein with a flick of the switch.

if you need more info let me know

Hi guys!

I found the problem!

After a lot of trouble shooting i found out that my Realtek 100/10 Lan Board was the problem. Don´t ask me why but is fakt. I pulled the network cable and it booted with out a problem after a windows shutdown.
Then i aktivated the Realtek onboard Gigabit Lan adaptor and hooked on the UTP patch Cable. E vola everything is working again as it did before the PSU replacement.

Thanks for reading it and given it some thoughts!!

Thats what i allways thought computers are mystery machines!! Like women
