Bios Question.

on my bios i have an option say

graphic aperture size

its set on 64mb


im wondering if i put that to 256 mb since my video card is 256 mb

Its best to have it to atleast the Total size of your system RAM so if you have 512mb or more then yes 256 aperture.

I think you are supposed to set it to half of the gfx cards ram so 128 sounds good

i have 2x 512 mb of memory ram yeah but 256 mb of video card though.

so i pull it to 256?

Well its either the system Ram you look at to decide the Aperture size but then again im thinking its all about the Ram on your actual g-card so in other words just set it to 256.

AGP arpeture size is the max quantity of system ram your VID card is alowed to use when the graphic card's memory is no longer enough. Setting it to 256 does not mean that 256 MB sys ram will be used/reserved for the vid card. It only means that someday when it will be necesary the vid card will be able to use that amount of memory. From my experience this never happens and it makes no difference if you set it to 64, 128 or 256. Some people say that for the sake of stability it's best to set it maximum at half the quantity of system ram, I have it like this and it is perfectly stable.
