AGP arpeture size is the max quantity of system ram your VID card is alowed to use when the graphic card's memory is no longer enough. Setting it to 256 does not mean that 256 MB sys ram will be used/reserved for the vid card. It only means that someday when it will be necesary the vid card will be able to use that amount of memory. From my experience this never happens and it makes no difference if you set it to 64, 128 or 256. Some people say that for the sake of stability it's best to set it maximum at half the quantity of system ram, I have it like this and it is perfectly stable.
