Some things on thermal paste.
The provided stuff on the Retail HS must be throughly cleaned with high quality alcohol (not liquor)
The common white paste does not transfer heat as well as AS5 (Artic Silver 5)
Proper service of the thermal paste my help reduce temps but a premium FHS should be considered.
The highest full load temp should not excede 50°c.

Arctic Silver 5 compound is proven to lower cpu temps.
In addition, an aftermarket heatsink will also help.
If your mixed ram sticks voltages and timings vary, your oc might be hampered.
Try 2 sticks matching ram first for increased fsb.
Watch your temps.

I dont understand......are you under the impression that paste affects your cpu speed?

from my understanding, the paste only affects heat transfer from your core to your hsf....yes, if you run lower temps your system may be more stable, but if you are running a reasonable Vcore with high temps then it would be advisable to reapply the paste....if your temps arent running above 50C at load then there is probably no point imho.

if you are trying to run a high Vcore and are trying to lower the temps then I'd recommend getting an aftermarket hsf such as Tt Big Typhoon etc....I just installed one and it has reduced my temps by 10C at full load at a higher Vcore.
