Well ill start off by saying i have around $300 or so and i want a monitor for gaming. I like 17in because of the fact i can run 1280x1024 but i dont like the fact that its 17in lol. I like 19in but i dont like that fact that it only runs 1280x1024 at that size. Iam looking for the best LCD monitor i can possibly get for that money. What would you suggest?

If you had closer to $400 I would say the Dell 2005FPW, I love it and anyone else who has it will say they love it. I bought it a few months ago when Dell had a 40% off on top of an instant $50 rebate for purchases over $300, so I got it for just less than $350. I don't know if you would be able to find a deal like that anymore though, but for $300 you could get any great 19" with a good response time.
EDIT: I forgot to tell you what size it was. It's a 20" widescreen, D-SUB, DVI, S-Video, and RCA inputs, 2 port USB hub, PIP and PBP, 1680x1050 maximum resolution. Never any ghosting in games, Just plain awesome.

I would jump on a 19in if it ran at a higher resolution then 1280x1024.

Well do you notice a big differnece between 1280x1024 on a 17in and a 1280x1024 on a 19in because its stretched with the same amount of pixels as a 17in by 2in on a 19 therefore having worse quality correct.
Iam just sayin this because i hooked my computer up to a 17in compared to my 15in and played it on 1280x1024 and it was so much better.

Yea, thats what it would SEEM like, but when you're dealing with highend monitors such as viewsonics and dell's over $200, you get a much better viewing area, it seems like, don't worry about how big the monitor is compared to the resolution, worry about how good the monitor is itself, and you won't need to worry, 19" @ 1280x1024 have much better image quality.

I would go with dpg's suggestion, actually I'm getting this monitor once I get my paycheck.

If it did, do you think that people would buy 19" LCD Monitors?

well if you put it that way......mayb because they are bigger? lol but i think i have made up my mind. Iam going to go with a 19in hopefully just not sure what yet iam taking a good look at that viewsonic. What about widescreen? Is widescreen the same way with quality? How is that 19in widescreen viewsonic? Iam just looking for a good moinitor for extreme gaming and an occasional movie or two.

I admit it, I am a fanboy for widescreens, but for good reason. Widescreens are awesome for gaming, FarCry with HDR, now that's good lookin' stuff. Some games are now starting to use widescreen aspect ratios too, pretty good for FPS's.
