What if your computer was helping looking for faster ways to get a F1 car around a race track? Would you be interested then? Do you not want to be a part of looking for cures for diseases. I can understand some people not being able to use their rigs for F@H, some rigs are for work solely and that is understandable but generally a idle CPU is a waste. Computers do not need a rest, they last longer turned on 24\\7 in most cases then swithched on and off all the time.

My question to you is, Why don't you fold?
Wow couldnt of said it better Myself. I love folding simply becasue you feel that you are giving something back to mankind.

OK HardwaterH4ck3r now that you have your house back to normal are you going to run F@H now? There has been plenty of proof that it is worthy so why don't you join the TEAM effort we have and come and enjoy the experience of folding.

I'll say whatever the hell I want as long as it is witin forum rules, and, as i can see, i have NOT violated the forum rules. Just saying that i cannot see the sense in buying a new rig just for folding is an OPINION, and that is why i am on this forum: to share opinions and converse. I never said folding was in any way stupid , just that it wasn;t for me, and i also said that ifg someone could give me concrete evidence that there was progress being made through these efforts, that i would resume my folding indefinitely on not only my main rig, but on my laptop.

I have never seen where it says i cannot post anythign negative, and i don't even see where i did. I posted one thing that could be perhaps considered negative and i discussed rationally with other members in this thread until wowza came in and commenced to act like an ass. Don't treat my like a leper just because i don't fold.

You need to stay off threads if your not going to help, the person who stared this thread wasn't looking for any feed back of your openion on folding, thats just being rude and narrow minded.

Hardwaterh4ck3r why does it matter to you what I spend my money on. I started this thread to ask if it would be better to spend $100 on upgrading a rig or to put that $100 to a new rig altogether. I have spent quite a bit of money on my folding rigs and I plan to spend $800 on 3 new folding rigs before the end of the summer. If you want to see some results from this project then just go to stanfords site and they are all over the place.

i have three rigs folding 24/7 The 3700+ in my sig a opty 146 and a 3700+754 setup .The cost of power compared to the good they are doing doesnt come into it .My bill has gone up about £25 per month which is about the same as a mobile phone contract or broadband subscription .We use these on a day to day basis too but tend not to complain about the cost .But when your mobile is giving you bad heads from the radiation you,ve taken from multiple phone calls and you get the dreaded diagnosis bet you wished you had folded.....But on to the topic ..If you can afford GO FOR IT im sure there are many of us here that wish they could throw more money at there pc,s to make them fold faster Good Luck

I would like to say that Folding has afforded me the ability to not only give back to humanity, but moreover I am one of the folks on this biological planet that suffers from a life ending blood disease. I tell you this not because I wish to attract your sympathies or any other selfish reasoning, no I tell you my friends here at overclock.net of my plight because, I am touched each and every time I log onto this site. I'm touched that there are so many genuinely, kind, considerate, thoughtful, giving, caring, folks as yourselves and because of your goodwill others might have hope for there futures or the futures of those they love and care for.

I for one am humbled by these extremely Honorable qualities I see with our Folding Team #37726 and I just want to thank everyone that contributes no matter abilities or statures.
