I'm wanting to upgrade the build in my sig which is long overdue. I have been using a M1710 laptop mostly lately and really liking it for gaming and what not but want to get another desktop up and running for my gaming purposes. Only game I play is warcraft and was hoping to run max settings. I want to reuse as much as possible to keep the cost down. Here is what I got so far...please give me some advice.

MOBO: ASUS P5QL 79.99
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7500 Wolfdale 2.93Ghz 123.99
GFX Card : EVGA Ge Force GTS 250 1gb 154.99

There's a combo deal in the For Sale section for an AMD 955 C3 with a 790FX motherboard for $145. You'd be nucking futs to let it go.

the list u have is what u are planing on getting?
if so, just go for the Core 2 quad, its like 110 at microcenter.
and if your looking to get really lucky u can always buy a new mobo thats a socket 775 (the have socket 775 mobos that support ddr3 upto 1600mhz i believe.)
core 2 quad and a new mobo would be great.

You can get a GTX450 for $130 or GTX460 for $160.

You can get AMD CPU + Mobo combos at Microcenter if you are near one.
Once again...

or you could get the AMD Athlon II x 2 or Athlon II x 4, or a phenom II x 2 (i recommend the Phenom II x 2 555 3.2ghz)
and a mobo which they have a deal at microcenter, if you buy the phenom II x 2 555 3.2ghz u get the mobo for free.

Was hoping to stay with intel but thank you all the AMD guys that chimed in.

So maybe this Mobo

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813131377R $89.99

with this memory

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231283 $119.99

Is that better? and is quad gonna be better even though warcraft only supports 2 cores. here is one I thought might be ok if quad is better

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16819115207 $149.99

Then this Video card

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121390 $174.99

Are these a better deal?

Not bad at all, but ddr3 ram at 1333mhz is cheaper than that bro.
check this mobo out
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813130252

and check this ram out
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231274

And i believe you can get that same cpu at a lower price at microcenter.

if warcraft only supports 2 cores and you only have 2 cores, then its better to have atleast an extra core, or more ram, you dont want your PC freezing because u have too many things open.
