With $1000 I would get the i7 920 and a gtx470 for sure. The other parts can vary, ive had good luck with Gigabyte so the UD3 or UD5 motherboards would work for you. Probably 6GB of DDR3 mushkin or corsair memory would be good. Someone else has to recommend a case, I would say 800d but thats probably out of budget.

For a new monitor I would say a LG 23 inches or plus, 23inches is the cut off for 1920x1080. I have one and I love it, its noticeably better(brighter and darker contrast) then any other monitor I have seen.

Odd, I cant find it either. Maybe intel is trying to replace it with the 930? Im not up to date on all the news. Either way, the 930 isnt a bad choice, it has the x22 multiplier, which is better for general overclocking but I would still go with the 920 for high overclocking(probably 3.8+)

I have heard very good things about G.Skill ripjaw, but I have never had any personal expirence with them(ive only used muskin ddr2 and corsair ddr3. I would still give the thumbs up on them because of all the good things I have read about them.
