Did you make sure your card is fully seated? Did you plug in the external power supply to your card?

There is no video card, it's the mobo with the nVidia 6100 Chipset.

I would throw in that 6600GT you have and see if it will post. It might be something querky that you will have to adjust in the bios to utilize on the on-board graphics. Like the DFI Infinity line you have to get into your bios and manually adjust to recognize a usb mouse or keyboard. So if all you have is a usb mouse and keyboard you are screwed. Hopefully it is just something like that happening here.

>.< To bad the 6600GT is AGP. I might have my dad take me down to best buy and pick up a PCI FX 5200 or something... thanks for helping... again.

I would call the two guys sitting their apartment in CA for some technical advice. Really, I am not kidding. You will see. A strange guy will answer the phone, "Hello", and you will be thinking to yourself, "Do I have the right number?" You will tell him you want help with your motherboard and he will hand the phone off to another guy, no putting you on hold, no transfer, just a hand off. Believe me, I can not make up crap this crazy.

The gentleman who helps you is knowledgable and will be able to guide you in the right direction. You will be asking yourself the same question I did, "What the hell have I gotten myself into?" ASRock builds a quality board, and it turns out there is a reason they are so cheap.

This was a couple of months ago, so things may have improved. Good luck, I hope you are up and running soon.

Okay, now I'm pretty sure I found the problem... the BIOS that is shipped with the motherboard does not support the Opty 146. There is an updated BIOS, but I'm gonna have a hell of a time flashing the BIOS without it recognizing the CPU.

I hope that is your problem. I know it is not the same board, but on the ASRock 939 Dual-SATA I had it would run with a bios that did not official support my Opteron. I ran with bios version 1.2 because it did not have the HTT lock at 274MHz. Hopefully you have a friend that will let you get it going with an Athlon. Did you talk to the two guys? LOL

Lol, nope, but I'm almost certain that this is the problem. My dad agreed to pay for all of my CPU/Mobo/Cooling upgrade, so I'll have a 3700+ to fire it up with soon. Thanks for helping so much.

Okay, all my stuff arrived today (hooray), so I popped my 3700+ into this rig, powered on... and nothing. Same exact thing as with the Opteron. What the hell is going on... maybe I'll try popping my 7600GT in there.

There must be something wrong with the on board graphics display, I feared this might happen. The bios versions do not seem to be too picky, like the example I gave before. RMA time, hope you bought through a good reseller because ASRock only warranties through their resellers and does not work directly with end users.
