i found this on some site.

What the maxrequests does is, at the moment, firefox only sends one request at a time, with this, it will send 30 or w/e you put. so it will load faster. it may work for you, it may not, it worked for me, it goes about 3x faster.

This is about a year old, and thats not the only steps, theres about 10 steps to speed it up, i doubled my speed. Serach firefox tweaks on google.

OR. Download fasterfox from the plugins page...and it does all that stuff plus more.
