all i can say is that this big typhoon is the dogs b******s...im running 1.75v through my 3200 because its really crappy an needs crazy votalge to get going and stable...but i was scared because i thought my temps would sky rocket....nope...not with the big typhoon...ever since i got it ive never been dissapointed with it..for 25 quid there is nothing better out there... just look how it handles 1.75v...also it has been lapped.....how much more cooler would iget with a lapped ihs

ill do load in the morning

If it is not seating correctly then lapping will help a little. Where are your load pics? An unloaded CPU means nothing to me. What is your ambient temp and load temp please?

oh sorry.....here is the OCCT temperature graph...

i know it doesnt say the voltage there but its at 2.6ghz..which i can only reach with such high voltages..also if you look at my other screenshot 2 posts up...i kno cpu-z reports as 1.712v...but in bios it is a 1.550 and special vcore at 113%...which equals = 1.550/100 = 0.0155
0.0155x13= 0.2015
1.550 = 0.2015 = TOTAL VOLTAGE = 1.7515v...with load temps of 39degrees celcius...which i think is quite good on air...yes?....no?......also would lapping my IHS reduce temps by much??

Those are some top notch temps you have there waqasr. My AMD 64 3700 loads about 2C higher than that and that is at 1.50V (atlhough the stock voltage is a lot lower on 64's than XP's).

How did you apply your AS5 (or other TIM)? Was it the blob method or the spread method?

Sweet mother of jesus that is a fair amount of voltage you are pumpin through that badboy (I just assumed it was an XP with that amount of juice). You do have good temps, but IMO voltage can be just as life decreasing as bad temps. Some people say a high Vcore will only knock off 3-5% of you CPU's 10year life, others say a huge amount more.

I wouldn't raise it any higher than that.

BTW have you tried the blob method (allow HSF to spread out the TIM)? I am debating which of the 2 methods is the best.

yup i know.. actualy i cannot raise it anymore than that...voltage is all maxed out in the bios..but yea i know this much voltage increase will have an effect on the life of my cpu but by the time it dies ill have upgraded anyway...but thanks for the warning rusty

actualy yes i have tried both methods...my 1st application i tried the blob method and letting the weight of the hsf spread the paste out...then i tried the credit card spreading method..and to be perfectly honest with you i dont really see any difference in the two...hope this helped

I've given my venice 1.85v and never went above 40C. The Bt rules, but even though your temps aren't high it still damages the processor over 1.7.
