While I am a very large proponent of cases that don't look tacky as **** (HAF series, Storm series, DarkFleet Series, Most NZXT's, etc etc) this **** is re-dick-u-lous. There are a ton of chassis that are classy but don't meet your requirements simply because of the window.

Not a member, not a fan because of this one little stipulation.
Agreed completely.

I completely agree with dagron. How does having a showroom quality case make an overclock any better? Besides, most extreme overclocks occur on an open bench anyway.

I consider "sleepers" as things looking ordinary from the outside (not necessarily old) and otherwise generally performance oriented everywhere else. "Sleek" is subjective, I can think of several builds I would consider sleek but have windows and nice lighting.

No LED, no mesh, no window, no Front power switch LED, nothing.
You should paint the faceplate on that DVD drive an old beige color and rock it at a LAN party.

I don't think this is what the OP had in mind when he made this club. It's simply for those who appreciate having a nice computer without the aesthetics factor of having a window and lighting. With that being said, in addition to the club name change, perhaps the OP can revised to be less offensive? I wouldn't call a TJ07 or any of the cases listed above as "tacky" because of having a window.

Just an observation, but why are people posting pics of their components too if this is all about a sleek and simple case? Showing no LEDs/cathodes?

Well, a lot of... emotive replies.

I'll get back to ya'll when I get back from work. Until then, play rice. Uh, I mean nice.

Also totally up for some sort of community-style voting - but very conscious of the fact that popularity/big budget cases etc. may then mean more than the design itself, which is the entire point.

Bah, so "sleeper" and "sleek" are both out. More suggestions please, more than happy to consider it.

  • No external radiators if WC'ing - Check
  • Absolutely no cold cathode lights - Check
  • Noise cancelling features are a bonus - Kinda, Got some acusti 7mm at the bottom of my case so dust dont go into my case from the bottom.
  • No case stickers, graffiti, art, etchings or doodles - Check
  • No logos apart from those of the case manufacturer, and even they must be tasteful (i.e. not Alienware) - Thermaltake?
  • Absolutely no pre-built/mass manufactured computers. You must have a custom rig, even if it doesn't glow in the dark. - Check

Ill get a pic when i can.

I care what mine looks like. Clean, tasteful, and straightforward. If you prefer something else, that doesn't mean I don't care what mine looks like - just that I have different opinions to you. That's the great thing about the world - not everyone will agree with you.

I'll go join stockclock and start a club there when I change my 720BE back to stock clocks. Until then, I'm sticking around. Thanks for the suggestion though.

Worth asking I guess, I still love this case, the cleanest case I've ever owned and loved. Less plastic ftw! <3 the silence of the case too :3
This is difficult. Personally, the FT01-BW is one of my favourite cases, but it does have a window.

This next point needs attention:

I agree - to a point. The problem is, the bulk of OCN (as noted in many, many other posts) do not have a sensibly designed case. There is a definite lean towards LEDs and UV glow-in-the-dark madness, which is all cool and fun, but not for this thread.

Now if I throw open the membership to a majority vote with anyone able to contribute, the demographic with the largest numbers (i.e. the LED-prone members) will control who gets included. That's counter to what I want to do.

Once this group reaches a membership total which is numerous enough to have a meaningful vote, I'll democractise the whole thing (and if people would prefer, hand it over to someone else to run).

Just to clarify: If you have LEDs, a side window, 200cfm fans, HAF 932 or UV dye in your watercooling - what you're doing isn't any less awesome or leet or whatever. It's just not what this particular thread is about. You're still a winner and your rig is just as awesome as it was before you read this thread.

I'm 100% in agreement, but we need a snappy name. We've considered "Sleeper" club and a few others... Anti-bling is a bit clumsy, and not everyone knows what it stands for immediately. Ricer's an unpopular term, but everyone grasps the principle immediately.
