Most cards are reference design, except for the Palit, Gainward and apparently that Galaxy card.

Hey if your talking about the sparkle calibre series (purple fans with black shroud) and their regular sparkle (removable fan with gray shroud) series those are definitely reference pcb's.

hello guys
the fan of one of my gainward 460GTX GS 2Gb is dead ( SLI config )

http://www.gainward.com/main/vgapro.php?id=400
i'm not sure but it may be the same design than 1GB version of the card

looking about the solutions listed on the first page, it seems that the gelid icy is a good choice, but I'm not sure it will fit with the second DVI plug
Do I need to dremel the heatsink ? :/
is there an other heatsink solution easier to use ?

thanks for help

7) Scythe Setsugen 2 (Available worldwide) >> I would suggest this instead if you are going SLI

You won't need to do any modification.

Not sure if anyone has done this but I wanted to come up with a list of aftermarket (air) coolers that will fit (without modification) onto the non-reference version (Palit and Gainward) board of the GTX 460.
That is totally awesome and i would like to ask if the coolers for the GTX 460 1Gb non reference models from the aforementioned brands are compatible with the GTX 560 non reference (also from Gainward and Palit). I have a GTX 560 from Gainward with the nonrefence PCB and cooler and i'm really interested in a aftermarket cooler (although it will void my warranty ).

@pentdragon,

Based on the reviews I've read the 560 is basically an "unlocked" (is that even the correct term?) 460

Quoted from Guru3d:
So the GeForce GTX 560 Ti is in fact the GF114 GPU, it is tweaked a little though to allow higher clock speeds with presumably a lower power draw. The GeForce GTX 560 Ti has 384 shader processor cores, 32 ROPs, and a 256-bit wide memory interface that connects to four 64-bit controllers each with 256MB memory tied to them, so that's 1 GB of memory for the product released today.

The new GPU has holstered a rather high GPU clock speed, with 822 MHz core, 1644 MHz on the shader cores, and 4000 MHz (GDDR5 effective datarate) memory, churning out a very decent 128 GB/s in memory bandwidth.

Now, most of all this sounds familiar eh? Yeah... remember the GF104 being used in the GeForce GTX 460 series? The new GF114 is in fact based off that IC, yet now with all shader processors enabled.

http://www.guru3d.com/article/palit-...sonic-review/2

So I'm assuming they are also using the same PCB's for this. From the look of the Palit reviewed by Guru3d it's about the same size and specs so any on this list should fit.

Hi all! I am thinking of buying aftermarket cooling for my reference CLUB 3D GTX460 1GB. Looks like DeepCool V4000 and Icy Vision rev.2 are the best to choose. Will they fit reference board without any modifications? And i heard that icy rev.2 needs mounting kit or smth that is sold separately to be installed on gtx460, is it true?
