GTX 460 / 560 / 560 Ti aftermarket (air) cooler (non-reference) list - Page 33

hi guys (sorry for my english)

i just found this (very interesting) forum about alternative cooler for 460...
And it seems u didn't talk about the HR03 + from Thermalright. This one fits with the 460, with this kit (french hardware website) :

http://www.pc-look.com/boutik/54028....eferer=froogle

And do not confuse HR03 GT and HR03 +. The first one has only 4 heatpipe, the seconde 6 heatpipes even if Google says 6 heapipes for both... There are a lot of mystakes about these 2 cooler. Trust me, the one with 4 heapipes will not fit with GTX 460.

So here u can see some photos about my 460 :

http://forum.hardware.fr/forum2.php?...w=0&nojs=0#bas

as u can see, i add some heatsink on memory and VRM, and Ã* 92mm Arctic Fan.
But i decided to change the fan for a 120 mm :

http://www.thermalright.com/new_a_pa..._hr03gt.htm#q4

with a Xigmatek blackline Edition :

[IMG][/IMG]

[IMG][/IMG]

Results are very good :

the fan runs at 1000rpm (very quiet), graphic card runs at default clock

IDLE : around 25°C

FurMark : 55°C max

Games (after more than 1 hour) :

Lost Planet 2 : 49°C
Bad Company 2 : 49°C
Just Cause 2 : 48°C

It seems that these results are very closed to the Arctic Accelero Xtreme +... I don't have this cooler so i can't confirm.

Well i hope this will help some people who are looking for a very efficient cooler.

My biggest apologies if this has been answered already I have scowered the thread many times to find it but can't.

Can you please tell me if the above will fit on my card? If so which adapter set would I need to get it to work?

Nice find! If only they were available where I live. I had to make my own custom mounts to fit my HR-03 Plus.

Actually the HR03 GT does have 6 heatpipes. Only the original HR03 has 4 heatpipes.

4 heatpipes: HR-03
6 heatpipes: HR-03 Plus, HR-03 GT, HR-03 GTX

P.S. You're talking about cooling a reference card. This thread is for the non-reference 460 coolers, the ones that have same hole spacings as the 8800GT.

OCN desperately needs a thread on reference hole spacing coolers...

Which card do you have? Also 768MB or 1GB?

It should fit the 768MB Gainward/Palit model but unsure of the 1GB version since it might hit the raised dual DVI ports. Use the Radeon 5870 mounts it has the correct spacing.

Then the accelero should fit your card, as mentioned before use the 5870 mounting kit on it.

Enjoy OCing your card! Oh yeah don't forget to purchase some vrm and mem heatsinks!

Thought this would be a good place to ask. Is there any cooler's out there that don't dump heat back into the case? I know you can custom shroud parts of the case, but I don't want to go that far. I just want a better than stock cooler, not caring how many slots it takes up that I can buy online that also throws the heat out the back.

Anyone seen anything? I reckon there could be a good market for something like this otherwise, say for HTPC's and such.

Unfortunately, I don't think there are any after market coolers for this particular card that offers what your looking for.

Sad...but true.

Hello everyone. I registered here coz i bought a thermalright shaman for my gainward gxt460 1gb, but sadly it doesn't fit. The pipes, where they bend, just hit the damn second dvi slot and make it impossible to mount the cooler. The only way it could stay there is turning it the other way and cut a good part of it; but it doesn't look like a great idea for such a pricy cooler.

Anyone did actually make the shaman work with a gainward?
