I've noticed that my card is sagging/bending due to the weight of the cooler. What do you recommend to use to correct/prevent this damage?
I've seen ninja wire, but that costs £20, so was looking for a cheaper/homemade alternative hopefully

That was the same problem I had when I installed my v4000 cooler to my Palit GTX 460, I actually just tried to monitor if it was going to get worse but it pretty much stayed that way for a good 2 years with no issues.

I ended up buying a Silverstone casing (since I had a crappy but reliable Antec 900) because of their rotated motherboard design. I invested more, but any card I decide to change it's stock cooler will never have that problem (because the card is always vertical).

So technically investing the £20 should be your best bet, unless you want to spend more by buying a new case (like I did).biggrin.gif

there was a thread around here, not long ago, and it had a bunch of quick fixes and homemade remedies for computer problems. some where stupid, some were funny, and some were very funny. one guy cut a bunch of shish kabob sticks to the right length, and put them in the bottom of the case so it holds up his gpu. it worked perfectly

EDIT 1: Even with shipping it should be a lot less than £20.

EDIT 2: Uggghh I just realized it's only available as an in store item and not for shipping. Unless you live near the 2 stores carrying it your options are back to what I originally mentioned.

I found another source for you --- EBAY ----

The seller is from the UK and since you quoted us in £ I assume you're located there? If you are, shipping it locally it will be fairly cheap. If you're not from the UK, well the price with shipping is US$19.72. That would come out US$11.81 cheaper versus your quoted £20 price.

Hi all, can someone confirm whether the Accelero Mono Plus is compatible with the PALIT GTX 460 Sonic Platinum WITHOUT having to mod card or cooler?

Also would it allow SLI?

Hi Mark, as requested by PM, the distance from mounting hole nearest the PCI bracket to the line of the DVI housing is of about 3cm. Does this help?
