I cant reach XMP 1600 timings (Mushkins)

Ok so i been working on these muskins for hours now and for some weird reason i cannot XMP timing with them .

1600MHz

XMP are 6-8-6-24-30
Im currently at 8-8-6-24-30

XMP = 1.65V
Currently= 1.68V



Now the issues is that im 100% stable at 8-8-6 @ 1600mhz

yet if i change the CAS latency to 7-8-6 @ 1600mhz my PC would fail to POST.

Why? From what i see im thinking it might be the mobo. It dosnt make sence that im stable at one timings and if i change the value one digit it will fail to post. Please help me.

You'll most likely need to More CPU-NB Volts, NB Chipset Volts and HT Link Volts.

If you have CPU DDR-PHY Voltage adjust, 1.25-1.28v helps with 1600mhz Ram.

Can you give a Pisture of your Votage section in BIOS VIA a digital camera?

The rest of these are out dated since i oced the NB to 2600 and the HT to 2200
And at 1.550 because of vdroop its actually 1.472

I would try lowering the CPU Voltage as well and raise that NB "Chipset" Voltage from the 1.15 that you have it set to to 1.25v-1.28. This will only add some heat to the NB CHipset on the MoBo so no worries. Just keep an eye on the NB Chipset temps. If you have a sensor for it....

Also lower the HT Link Multi to x10 (for 2ghz Freq.) AND Put that NB PCIe Freq Back to 100mhz. There is No need for that at this point.

Summary:

-Lower the CPU Voltage to 1.50v
-Lower the CPU-NB Voltage to 1.30v
-Lower the HT Link Multiplie to x10 to have 2ghz HT Link freq.
-Lower the NB PCIe Freq. from 105mhz to 100mhz
-Raise the NB Chipset Voltage to 1.25-1.28v
-Raise the HT Link Voltage to 1.28-1.30v

Set these and see what kind of environment this creates. Use PRime95 in SmallFFT's mode first to test mainly the Stability of CPU freq itself. Then if Stable for [your preferred amount of time here], then test the system again using Prime95 in Blend mode.

EDIT: Have you made sure that 3.9ghz is stable for the CPU freq with everything else lowered first? Or at least like it is? When OCing, it's best to find the max Stable freq (at any given voltage) first before try to OC them all together. That way you'll have a better idea of what may be giving you the errors.

1.I cant do that. Lower it to 1.5 would set my voltage to 1.41 ~ 1.45V

you have to remember my Mobos suffers alot of Vdroop. I have tested the stability of my CPU alot with at 1.46V im stable for about 3 hrs. At 1.472 im stable for more then 12 i know.

2. With the NB OC to 2600 this is actually the lowest voltage where i think im stable. Im actually still stressing it ATM (1:20 so far)

3.I raised the HT multiplier because i wanted to run some benches to see if ti helped at all LOl.

4. Same deal i was just curious. I read alot about the dangers with adjusting this one so i conservativly only oced it 5 mhz.

5. Im a grab a fan before i do that

6. HT needs more voltage?!?!

Have you updated to the latest BIOS?

Will the board let you set CL6 on the 1333(1:3.33) memory multi?

I will have to check but yes i have updated my Bio less then a month ago.

I have the same memory Kit and something you have to keep in mind is that these memory module were rated @ 6-8-6-24 on and Intel memory controller which means that results varie depending on what type of system your running. I got lucky with my Chips as they allowed me to get the XMP profile but i had to bring voltage up a bit because i to have a pretty high overclock....
