With all my rigs going looks like I'm pulling close to 200k PPD!!!!

Finally putting up decent points for the team again. Lets see if I can gain some ground on 1st. If not next month I should post some solid numbers with the rig going how it is. Still pulling sub 45min TPF's.

Also, posting PPD like that, you'll pass me quick! My output sucks right now due to the heat and our AC being on the fritz, the only rigs I have running regularly are my TC rigs. I turn my other rigs on and run like 1 or 2 WUs, then shut them down and never more than a few at a time, otherwise the temps in our house get out of hand. I can't wait until it cools off again and I can post big numbers!

Wanted to let you know, I got the 470 today, haven't had a chance to even open it (will probably wait until either Sunday or Monday, when I have time to play with it), but it did come!!! drunken.gif

Awesome I hope it works great for you! I have the other Super Clocked edition on eBay right now, will put the other up once this one sells. Hoping that I can make enough to fund some waterblocks for the 670's. Yeah my electric bill was ridiculous last month! Hoping that my landlord puts in a new A/C soon. I went so far as to buy a kill-a-watt to try and see how much each computer and everything else in the house is pulling.

TC Folder : 250 Watts
Server : 500 Watts
Main rig : w/ the 470's 1000 Watts
Aquarium : 300 Watts

Need to retest with the 670's to try and see what it's pulling now.

Well, I just failed another 6903 after I thought I had solved the problem. It gave me an error 7A, and by the looks of it, failed when it tried to compress the finished file (permissions issues?). Damn. I just deleted the FAH folder and rebuilt it from scratch, assembling as much as I could outside of root, and I think the new one will work without fault. Now, I'm just gonna run through an SMP unit to verify that it will have adequate permissions and will be able to work out all right and send/receive/compress the work unit files, and then it's back to the bigadv by putting it back into the startup script in the /bin/FAH file (a note to self). Hopefully I'll get a break of luck and this will work, considering I just lost myself and the team almost 600K points in the past week. I'm really sorry, and feel absolutely horrible and dejected right now.

Furthermore, moving in to a dorm at the end of August might not allow me to fold any more, so I'll probably resign from my i7-2 spot for September until I can verify that folding will be possible in the new environment. I'll be able to fold for 90% of August though, but just a warning: a new i7-2 folder will be needed for September. I'm saying this now so I don't put any unnecessary stress on recruiting a new person and that we will have the whole month of August to find someone.



Life sucks! But I shall deal with it as best as I can.smile.gif I'll give y'all an update tonight on how the SMP experiment went!

That really sucks sir, I'm sorry to hear that you are losing WUs. I'm also sad to see you retire from the TC. When we start looking for a relacement, do you want us to pick up a temp until you can see if you would still be able to stay on, or do you want us to go ahead and find a replacement. I'd just hate to give up your slot and then find out you would still be able to compete. Let me know what you think.




On a side note, I realized last night that I had accidentally turned on my 3570k to fold under the same passkey as the GTX460 I'm folding for the Wildcard slot, so I had to let BWG know to remove about 15k points from that slot, so I'm not really leading. However, I did figure out what was going on my my 460s (they weren't playing well with the rigs I had them in, so I switched them) and now I'm posting 16k PPD!!!! This should be good enough for me to hold either 1st or second for that cat!!!

Yes, electricity and internet is abundant, but in my already heavily air-conditioned house, my room never gets below 85, and is often around 93, like it is now. I've learned to adapt to that type of environment, but I don't want to promise anything until I know more about my accommodations. I have yet to meet my roommate, and have yet to see whether or not the dorm will be air conditioned, have good ventilation, etc. and would rather not unexpectedly abandon the team if things aren't A-OK for folding. I will make every effort to continue my folding career, but felt responsible to warn my comrades of impending doom.

Now, regarding my rig: an SMP unit dropped perfectly fine, so I think I may have fixed the problem. I'm running a 6901 now that should drop Tuesday morning some time, and we'll see how that goes. However, I'm leaving for vacation this Friday, so my rig will be left somewhat unattended and folding away for like 10 days. I'll still have SSH capability hopefully, but won't have much time to think about it while I'm busy.

On a side note, I realized last night that I had accidentally turned on my 3570k to fold under the same passkey as the GTX460 I'm folding for the Wildcard slot, so I had to let BWG know to remove about 15k points from that slot, so I'm not really leading. However, I did figure out what was going on my my 460s (they weren't playing well with the rigs I had them in, so I switched them) and now I'm posting 16k PPD!!!! This should be good enough for me to hold either 1st or second for that cat!!!

 

 

Haha, I noticed that too, I did the same thing earlier this month, and had BWG remove it.  All of a sudden I noticed a random SMP WU show up when I'm folding bigadv, I thought, wait a minute, that shouldn't be there.

Yeah, I couldn't figure out how I jumped from 4th to 1st overnight, then when I was looking at my stats, I saw that I had an 8k upload and a 9k upload and I'm like, 'wait, my GPU doesn't do WUs with those point values!' Then I pulled up the rig and saw that the CPU was 98% complete on a WU and was like 'Crap!!' So I shut it down and PMed BWG, now I'm just waiting for him to get back to me.
