First thing is: You may only need to unplug everything from the PSU to the computer, and maybe not remove it entirely.
Other than that, do you have a single stick of RAM in another computer you can swap? Do you have an extra CPU for the socket? Do you have another board with the same socket of your CPU? Do you have another rig you could try your PSU in. (that one is a stretch)
I'm sure you have thought of all that, but I wish you the best of luck anyway. I hope it is only the PSU, since I'm sure that is the cheapest part in your system that can blow.
Haha, yeah, it is a ton to cram into a 500R, honestly, both rads are mounted outside and I don't even try to put the side on the case (I like seeing all my tubing and motherboard, I think it all looks nice). I really need a new case, but I can't justify the expense since I managed to make the 500R I had work.
As for the fix...
Amusingly, I have all the spare parts in another system. I've got a spare 3570k (this system has a 2700k in it) system, and 2 sticks of ram still in the box.
I'm also hoping it is the PSU, if so, it is a great chance for me to upgrade to a 1200W and then I can throw the spare GTX570 I have sitting on the shelf in there and really make this thing pump out some nice PPD!

I have had to do that, I just laid the case on its side and set the PSU on top of the installed one
That's a really good idea, I think that is where I'll start. I can just set the spare PSU next to the system and try to power it up.
Does anyone know, if I have 2 GPUs in the system and I don't have power running to them, but I have the IGPU turned on, will the system still run? At least enough to post so I can tell if it is just the PSU? Since the system is all water cooled I really don't want to have to pull the GPUs to test the PSU and I don't have a spare PSU big enough to power the whole system (2700k and two GTX 470s). I think my spare is just a 500W.

You're lucky R2-D2 is down right now, otherwise I'd just fire him up and jump past you again! Just wait, once I get him running again, I'll pass you up and come talk smack!
EDIT: OK, maybe not, your PPD is looking AWESOME! Nicely done, sir! What are you running to get that, if you don't mind me asking?
