ATI catalyist Controll Center

Ok just noticed this my self and havnt read any thing about it so i thought i would let you know that any one useing ATI Catylist 6.1 and are reading your temps in the overdrive part you may have noticed that your temps are very high, well there not, i thought they were but after i updated to 6.3 my X1800XL droped from 67C Idle to 42C idle, so thats over 20C out, just thought i would let you know as there are people being worried about their 1800XL having very hight temps.

Yeah just sounds like A driver/program glitch there wit misreading..i cant say i had this problem that could be because of a different series of card.

hmm yeah you may be right, its just i have read alot about people saying their 1800XL is to hot, and if they didnt have updated drivers that may be the problum and they could have gone out and bought a new for better cooling even though they would have been ok with the stock on, as long as they dont want to overclock any way.
