I am extremely new to this overclocking. could u please tell me the first few steps in order to get a reasonable speed from my cpu besides buying new. all help is appreciated. thx

i have a 3000+ as well, since mine is newcastle ive heard its not good for overclocking but can be raised to 2.2 stable, maybe 2.3
and of course i have heard of 2.6 on it but then its not very stable
find out what core your 3000+ is

I would recommend learning about your motherboard online to see comparable OC's and any special quirks the motherboards might have. It's best to walk into the OC'ing world with lots of knowledge at hand.

Ok guys and gals I researced my butt off and found that the ms 7093 board sucks for overclocking and since I am now interested in this aspect I do believe I should go out and purchase a board that is OC friendly if there is such a critter. I would appreciate any input as to the board make and model. I am not a penny pincher but am not rich by any means. Suggestions please as I value your opinions.
