Thread Starter
im trying to OC cuz i just got my new PSU.
i put the mem at 166
i put the HT at 4x
i put the cpu voltz at 1.45
i put the ram voltz at 2.7
i put the chipset votz at 1.6
then i put the HTT (which appears as cpu frequency) at 240

windows wont start when i save these options
there is this option that is called hammer fid and it goes from startup, 4x 800mhz up to 10x 2000mhz
what do i do with this? what am i doing wrong?

Hammer fid control is your CPU multiplier. What is it set at?

Put the HT to 3X

Useing 2, 1 gig sticks of ram will not overclock as well as 2 512 sticks

put it on 10 even though auto is 10, just so your know what you have it set at. Auto might try to adjust it otherwise and disable cool and quiet.

Hey there dude, i'm kinda new to all this oveclocking too but one things that people kept telling me when i was OCing is to keep the:
HT multiplier x CPU Freq to 800 - 1000, if its below 800 or above 1000 you can get instability so try to keep it within that range
Try putting all your settings back to defualt and start OCing again with HT multiplier set to 4x and CPU Freq at 210, then 220, 230 and so on. Also you gotta check that your RAM Freq isn't limiting your OC, so make sure you have a FSB:RAM divider that will keep your ram freq around normal speed. I hope this helps ya out!

AH and one last thing don't increase your CPU Freq in really big amounts!!! Stick with small increments of +5 or +10Mhz best of luck!!

If your running your memory at 166 then you are on a divider so I wouldnt think that your memory would be running to fast.

Put your memory voltage at 2.8

Try upping your Vcore to 1.5. Check your temps after each Vcore increase.
