Welcome to the forum mate enjoy your stay.

COD2 can be a very demanding game and would really enjoy an extra gig of ram. The 1 gig available will be OK though.

What drivers do you plan on using?
Overclocking is easy and can be done automatically for you.
ATI tool is great and can be set to load your programmed profiles for you and will load at startup if you wish.

The Omega drivers are also great and come with a program called Ati Tray Tools which has all the tweaks available for you to play with along with the automatic overclocking and profile saving for you.

Generally using the latest drivers will yield better performance over their older counterparts but if your system seems to be running well then it can pay to just leave it alone. When changing drivers it can also help to totally get rid of the old ones with a program called Driver Cleaner.

A link to the ATI site also where you can get the latest Catalyst drivers.

enjoy

hey people, i have the x1600 pro 512 agp card, i currently have it overclocked on the core to 580mhz, call of duty 2 collectors ed can be run literally flat out, not sure what my fps is i never checked because i seems to run a little bit too quick if that is possible??just my game play preference. but yeah i normally have the res at 1024/768 which i can put all the way up and it still runs fine, this card can practically run Oblivion,Battlefield2, F.E.A.R at near enough max settings. but on call of duty 2 everything is on full,
good card but the mem bandwidth lets it down big style

Hello there saw you hadnt been answered. As for your performance yes drivers can cause this issue. I would download the latest Ati drivers or there modded counterparts from Omega.net.

When reinstallnig g-card drivers follow this procedure first :

1.Download and install ''Driver Cleaner'' Here:
http://www.drivercleaner.net/professional.html
2.Uninstall your Current Display drivers such as your ''ATI'' or ''Nvidia'' drivers.
3.Now run ''Driver cleaner'' and depending on the Drivers you have you will have to select either ''ATI'' or ''Nvidia'' from the drop down menu. Only select the main title of the driver in the drop down such as just ''ATI'' or ''Nvidia''
4.Once you have selected Your driver click on the ''Start'' button and this will now start the driver cleaning process. ( Do this twice to be sure )
5.Now reboot your system and Download the latest Nvidia or ATI and go ahead and install them.

Doing this avoids driver corruption and conflicts so you can now enjoy smooth gameplay.
