Disk boot failure + Reset Port Error

Hey guys,

This happened randomly when i came back from work. At startup it says Port 01: Reset Port Error. Sometimes when I restart it, I just get DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER.
When i keep restarting it, Windows 7 manages to boot after a few attempts, I surf on the internet/play some games for 3 mins...freezes.

I went to system setup, the hard drive is first in the boot order. I dont have a clue as to what I should do. Please help me out?

Thank you

Hi
I would check the power and data cables to the drive!
Plus, you need to backup any stuff you don't want to loose.
Then if you install HDTune, you can check the drive SMART info and see what it says! And run a disk scan too

Plus, if you fill out your system details here. We can see what we are dealing with

And welcome to OCN

Tyvm!

I cannot install HD tune b/c I don't have enough time...by the time I load up windows, the system has already frozen. I ran chkdsk one of the first times and it found a few bad sectors, repaired them, but nothing got fixed.

I did swap the data cables of my dvd drive with the hard drive one and now the error is "Port 00: reset port error" rather than "Port 01: reset port error" + I still get disk boot failure
