This is THE place for Oblivion. I've just downloaded the 'natural environments' Mod. Not tested it yet, but the pics of it look great! Its even better as the mod is split into 3 parts, so you can install the ones you want. Ill just be installing the 'natural water' part, which makes the water less opaque and 'plastic' as someone descibed it. I dislike the murky water, as it makes hunting slaughter fish a right bastard.

There also a patch for Oblivion bringing it upon version 1.0.228. (i think)
I'm not sure if it has actaully been released yet though, and so im trying to find it now, but it seems it is not yet available.

If you play Oblivion, you MUST check out http://www.oblivionportal.com/ as they have lots of mods and tweaks and cool stuff, like information on places, items and quests.

This is handy as well. http://www.tweakguides.com/Oblivion_1.html

2 quick Oblivion questions: 1)Why can't I drop items? It always tells me I don't have room to drop this item 2) Is anyone else having random crashes? My system has never crashed in a single game ever and it's now crashed twice playing Oblivion. If it's just me, I think I might know the culprit.....

bethesda is known for lots of crashes... lol. many times the game will crash on me when I exit. it hasn't done it during gameplay though... but then again I haven't played that much either.

I think the 'send error report?' when you exit is quite commn. i get it 50% of the time. I find that if you save and exit immediately it happens more often, whereas if you save, and stand around for like 5 minutes before exiting, it rarely happens.

After i did some tweaking in the .ini file i randomly started getting crashes, namely when my sister was trying to get into waynon priory.

If you are getting crashes, replace your modified .ini in the my Documents\\My Games\\Oblivion with the original, and setup your settings in game again. This soved random crashing for me.

Oblivion is also VERY VERY EXTEMELY sensitive to Overclocking. If i OC my 6200 by 2Mhz its crashes dramatically, whereas 1Mhz OC im find. (seriously! so i dont bother OCing it)

You should be able to drop items by shift+clicking on them in your inventory window.

I suggest you all get the 'coloured map' mod, as it makes the map look alot better, and doesnt impact performance at all. Google it and itll come up.

Quiet feet is a MUST if you have onboard sound, i think most ound cards will be ok without it, but still. If you get stuttering around wolves/horses or any other multi-legged creature, use this. It remove the sound of foot-falls from all creature except humans.

Oblivion hates too much vid card OC'ing. I had to drop mine back a smidge. As for not dropping things.. where are you when this happens? everywhere?

Yes mate, I get loads of crashes and just in this game. Seems to be mainly when exiting and when saving. I've taken off all the autosaves and it's much better now, but still crashes when exiting quite a lot. Think it needs a patch!

In order to prevent the crash when exiting the game exit to the main menu then quit the game. I started doing that and it hasn't crashed a single time when I quit that way.
