Really? thanks for the info, +rep.

The 'Natural water' part of the 'Natural environments' mod is essential, without it water is just crap. Its only really when you use it you realise how crap it was before.

I found out more about the patch. It IS NOT yet out, as i thought, but it shouldnt be long, so fingers crossed

If anyone hears that it IS out, let us know here, ill keep my eyes open for it as well, and ill be sure to tell you all.

i have a rletativly powerful system, and yet when there is more than one NPC on the screen the game jerks...its not like the FPS has lowered, its almost like i have progs runnin in the background.

Does anyone else have this problem?

Is this one of the glitches that people have been talking about

Finally, is there any way to solve this problem?

I have looked through guides but they all seem to be about making the game better instead of run quicker.

Cheers all

I don't experience any jerking. Is it possible that you're referring to the Autosaves? The only negative thing I can say about Oblivion is that it has a lot of bugs. I've never crashed in any other game EVER, but I crash on Oblivion once a session.

Lower your settings. Also, do you have vSync on? might wanna try it with vSync turned off.

What do you mean the game didnt 'recognise' your 7600? I'm guessing you mean when it says 'detecting settings for your system' or whatever that bull says. Where it first sets your settings and shows you vga adapter?

I've not heard of anyone else with this problem. I suggest that you uninstall your drivers, boot into safe mode and run Nasty File remover and Driver Cleaner a couple of times.

What driver version are you using? if its one of the older version's (older than 84.21) then thats probably why it doesnt detect your 7600.

For Oblivion, you should be using atleast the 84.25 drivers, as they are optimised for Oblivion. I use the 84.43 drivers, and have noticed no difference between them and the 84.25 drivers.

I think this is down to your drivers, although im not that sure as i dont know all that much about them crazy ATi doodads. When i first started using the 84.25 drivers for my 6200, they were as unstable as hell, but after totally cleaning them out with Driver cleaner and reinstalling, it was fine.

If you ever having problems with crashing, the first thing to try is a clean out and reinstall of your video drivers. Audio drivers can also give major problems in Oblivion as well, so you might wanna try updating those as well.

Also, try reducing/removing your overclock. Some games might be fine with your OC, but BF2 is sensitive to OC'ed cards, and Oblivion even more so! So its just something else you need to try. My card is unstable with anything more than a 1Mhz OC....

Honestly? You don't crash at all? You're the first person I've seen that could state that. I'll have to look into a driver conflict then, but it seems odd that not only is this the ONLY game I crash in, but that I can forcibly repeat the crash by repeating the same steps in game that caused it. That would strongly point towards a game bug, but perhaps not.
