In my opinion (I am not a screen expert .... neither graphic/camera freaks) the screen is very good.
Not too much ghosting in 3d, rather good contrast and good colors. Maybe not enough brightness, especially for 3d.
I must however disagree about the 3d; I finished CoD: Black Ops in 3d and it is amazing ! (I also played mafia2 and metro2033, which are quite good in 3D)
I did not have any sickness due to 3d even after playing 3 hours in a row. You can feel your eyes are a bit more tired ... but nothing bad. (You can always, by pressing a button, switch off the 3d for 5 minutes when you feel you need to ...).
I must say, the technology is not perfect yet, it's true; but quite satisfactory.
About the ghosting, of course there is some at the top of the screen (more or less depending on your convergence parameters) ... but you will quickly stop noticing it while playing.
The immersion factor is so much stronger with 3d (in my humble opinion). I showed it to a few friends, they were all impressed .... even my girlfriend ....
It is like to look outside through a window while playing ....
I had the chance to get the first batch of those screen. The screen was bundled with a 3dVision kit for 450 CHF (~320 Euros). Now they sell the screen only at this price .... I would probably not have bought 3d glassed if it was not bundled ....
But I really disagree with people saying that 3d sucks for games. I would say, it is not that great with movies ... but I haven't watched a full movie in 3d, I must admit.
Hope it helps !
Pretty much the same experience that I had! Especially the brightness comment is the EXACT same I wrote somewhere in this Thread!
On my statement of the 3D... I only tried it at my brother's flat, he has the alienware screen, maybe it wasn't calibrated correctly so if felt a bit strange... I have NOT tested it with the BENQ! So by all means take Nomis opinion more serious that mine... Will update once I actually got the chance to try it out in games and Movies...
I just thought that Movies will be easier on the eyes since you just watch them passively rather than scanning for targets, moving aroung and so on...
Like I said: Will update once I tried it on my BENQ...
