BENQ XL2410T 120hz / 3D/ LED / 1080p - Page 46

Okey I tried your settings, I can see square 8-9 in the black test (with instant mode off).

Now when I put instant mode ON again... oh my god. The squares are actually DARKER now then the background. It almost feels like the backlight bleed is coming through the centre of the monitor now. It looks extremely strange.

Lowering the brightness to 15 and highering the contrast to about 75 fixes it, but it brings on unbelievable amount of white saturation (nothing apart from the first pattern on the lagom test can be distinguished).

What the hell is wrong with this monitor?

EDIT: Lowered the contrast to 50, brightness to 10, set the gamma to 1.8. Square 8-9 on the black tests, two first rows on the white saturation tests. This is pathethic, but at least I don't feel like I have to kill myself anymore. Until I remember how much I paid for this monitor that is.

I was looking to buy this monitor since Dec but the status was "pre-order" like forever. Just found it is in stock now on BenQ shop now...I might just pull the trigger and hopefully I will get a good one...

OhYeah, if you think it's not working right, I'd RMA it. I have digital vibrance at 60 in the nvidia settings. I don't know if that has any effect on shades. Could also be a video card driver issue. Try a different driver.

Probably not. I reset all the colour/gamma settings in the ATI control panel, and my previous BenQ G2400W worked with the same video card. I really don't want to go through the hassle of RMA again (don't ask), so I'll just wait until the next generation 120hz panels appear and then this one goes into the bin.

OhYeah go to tftcentral and use their icc profile for XL2410T, see you can get any improvement or not.

For 120hz, no, you only need to hook it up to one port (either one will do) on your video card and it won't make your performance suffer at all.

As I understand, ICC profiles are for example ignored by games. So it's not a very good solution.

In addition, the monitor has developed two new problems. The backlight bleed seems to get worse with every day and there is a a few pixels high line of flashes or wobble, sometimes when watching a movie, sometimes when playing a game, sometime when just clicking on items in windows explorer. It is reduced by lowering the hz to 100 and it seems to go away completely when setting the hz to the standard 60.

So well done BenQ. What's next, I wonder.

I actually want to get 120hz LCD, but the QC of this LCD is so poor that makes me think twice to get it. From what I've observed so far, few people are fine with this LCD, but more people are not happy with this LCD. Buying this LCD is like testing your luck lol.

Someone over [H]forum mentioned that backlight bleeding problem is caused by older firmware, new firmware will fix the problem.
