Restarts during prime testing?

Thread Starter
Greetings, as of today i began my attempts at more than a 15% oc. The system is as stated in my profile. I've been bumping up the fsb in low increments and when i get above 3.8ghz (240 fsb) dual testing with prime95 reboots the computer after a short while. It was nice seeing 31seconds with super pi @ 4.0, but im not sure if i want a system that may randomly reboot if i push it.

The temps are around 40 idle 50ish load, so i dont think thats whats causing it. I also have the ram running slower than the rated speed for ddr2-800, so i dont think thats it either.

Right now im considering either the powersupply being at fault, or perhaps bad ram. Anyway i just wanted to see what those with more experience than i thought. Thanks for the assistance.

Getting up to that point, no. Once i found the instabililty i raised it up a little, saw that the restarts were still there and lowered it back.

It actually sounds like your CPU is overheating.
And Preslers require less Vcore than the Sithies because they are 65NM.
