I'm not sure what could be causing the instability. Are you running this as Ubuntu inside windows 7?

Yup! It could also be a software issue, conflicts between the VM and Windows.
that indeed it could be. This is your primary folding/gaming rig? It could be that it's trying to do too much then. Windows has a lot of crap in the background it needs to run. I've got Ubuntu on a separate hard drive and stand alone operating system, so far it has not crashed out on me. The downside is now i can't access all my cool stuff in windows. When i would start windows though even with 8gbs RAM though and the pagefiling turned down to 400gbs I still had issues running out of memory on it unless i ran the ready boost feature. You could try plugging in a 4.0GBs plus USB and set it to ready boost. Problem arose for me with trying to run Linux and having a USB thumb drive in the computer 24/7. Yours might be ok though if you try it.

Yea, Ben's is BSOD'ing. BSOD 124. Increased CPU offset and crossing fingers that's what it is, otherwise we're going to have to delve into memory instability.

And sounds good Greg!

is it BSOD while stock? he might have to consider going back to stock recovering data doing a fresh install and then a fresh overclock.

No, BSOD while overclocked and folding.

I installed the RAM on Friday and I've been testing out the OC all day. Trying to get it stable with 4.21GHz CPU and 1650MHz 9-9-9-24 for the RAM. Keep you guys posted.
