You don't get partial points for failed units, to the servers, it never happened. You said it was stable at 4GHz right? That might be all you can get out of it.

I was stable for like 1-2 WUs. Then black screens, auto restarts and all the rest happened. I feel like crying Sarge.

Most strange, but I guess that's what happens. Maybe 3.9 is all you're going to get, maybe not even that. What stability tester are you using?

=/ Doritos, you may just have a chip that wont go that high, each one is different.

In other news I took the wildcard cat if even for a short time. =)

Linx and Prime. I usually go :

Linx 50 passes. If it fails ("stopped on error blah blah") more vcore
If LinX passes, move onto blend. Couple 12 hours or so.
Prime failed? More CPU-NB or RAM depending on severity of failure.
At 4.1 and 1.5 vcore, Linx fails within a minute. I give a little more vcore, and the machine auto reboots. I have a feeling my PS isn't cutting it anymore. It's fairly old. What do you know about power supplies, Sarge? Where does the proc get its power from? 3.3 line? If so, my PS is providing 155watts on that line. Maybe it isn't enough since stock the 1090 draws a little less than that. Anyway I really don't want to buy a PS right now, and I don't know how to isolate it without buying a new one. So I'm kinda stuck.

I'm going to remove -bigadv for a lil just to confirm that stuff is going towards my passkey. I haven't had a single WU credited since like the last two weeks of February. Z has confirmed that everything is okay on his end, so it's probably on mine.

You get CPU power from your EPS12v, I don't even know what runs off the 3.3 anymore. If you can, grab one of those PSU testers where you plug all the leads into it and see what kind of voltages it's really running at, and if they're staying stable. It won't have very good resolution when it comes to that, but it'll give you an idea. What PSU do you have though?

This, with these specs.

I'm well aware that not all chips clock the same. I was really just trying my best to get the most out of mine, and to be honest, I'm still not convinced. If there is anything that can cause inconsistency in terms of problems, it's a power supply. I just need to rule it out and then I'll be convinced.

So sarge, if I measure from the yellow wire on let's say a 4 pin molex connector, I'll get the same value that's being fed to the CPU circuitry?

Not necessarily, as if you notice, there are 4 18A 12v rails, so the molex may not be the best way to test. I'd recommend getting a tester, they're cheap, small, and invaluable. I test every PSU I get before they go anywhere near a machine to see if it's in spec.

Also, I don't know if those are any good. Fire up JG when you get an chance and see if he tested it.

Also also, I finally got my 990 in, currently running at 4.35 for now, but I know this chip has more in it. It may well become the team's chip.
