I am using Ubuntu at least for now, however WINE GPU folding is really hard on cpu cycles

Dont know if its an option but most of us have seen the best results with ubuntu 10.10 and ext3 file system.

As a rule I only use ext4 and it's annoying to install my video drivers on Ubuntu 10.04 I'd assume the same for 10.10 in fact 11.10 is the only one that worked out of the box. Of course I changed them from the standard Ubuntu after install but it only took button clicks.

Should be in those links. To add your linux box you just point it twards that shared folder. thumb.gif And then you share it through dropbox.

Lightning took out 5 transformers around my house about 3 hours ago, they're saying the power should be back on tentatively about 1 a.m. so about another two hours for my grid. Either way I'll power my rig back on before bed. If I have some gas I might use the generator if it's not up by then or something idk I'll try to keep you updated. At least it happened this month and not next. Luckily my rig is ok thunder gave me about a minutes head start, just got it stopped and shut down when my UPS kicked in. Able to post this because of FTW 6 hour battery backup for Phone, Cable, and Internet. .

Edit: They weren't incompetent and actually got it done early... Anyone know what day the apocalypse is?

Ok I took the opportunity to bump the volts to 1.47 and the OC to 4.8Ghz if that's stable I'll see about bumping it to 4.9. Also figured an easy way to monitor it I mapped it as a network drive and told HFM on my laptop it was a local client.

OVO>> Folding@home Bonus Point Calculator.png

Assuming the OC holds and barring other difficulties it would appear to be getting ~54k PPD. Pinch me am I dreaming?

And of course this is with the set back of the power outage skewing the tpf a completion time a bit.

Edit 2: LMAO it appears it downloaded a unit from Thursday without my noticing. Let's hope it completes before deadline..

If someone can ask around about this for me I need it like yesterday fto control my fans and keep things cool.

http://manpages.ubuntu.com/manpages/hardy/man8/fancontrol.8.html

In other news I might be able to do it at 4.9 Ghz I'm trying it, apparently client didn't shut down well at all or maybe it didn't like my OC or something because it gave me a 6904 WU.
