It appears Murphy's Law has taken me as the poor soul for the week. AC is on the fritz and I'd take a guess that my PSU is as well. My 2500k rig just shut down and I can't do diddly to turn it back on best I get is a little movement from the fans and the motherboard is lit up. None of the error lights come on either. I can get the fans lit up only if I unplug the PSU and wait for the power to drain from the caps plug it back in and then fans come on for like a second. I've tried unplugging the power from all the peripherials among other things.

Idk when it will be up but I'm working on it I'm looking for my PSU tester and I may have to steal the PSU out of my dad's computer if I can't find it. I'm going to have to look in the morning as I have to get up early (so I don't bake in the sun). If nothing else I believe my shipment from Cooler Master should be here soon. I'll PM Chipp to check on the status.

If it turns out to be the CPU or motherboard again Intel or ASUS will be upgrading me to a better model, I mean it's only the seventh or eighth of each I've had crap in my face since last January.

Quite saddened, will let it go on it's 6903 now, and see if it gets anymore unstable

Probably won't be on much the next week, except from phone as I'm a good few hours drive north up in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Hope everyone has a good week, and we all stay stable! cheers.gif

Do you have a fan aimed at your VRM heatsink? If not, put one in there.

I have yet to see a 3770k beat a 2600k in TC, so I wouldn't do it yet.

Hey guys. I've got the dedicated 680 rig up and running but my progress has been at 0.00% since last night. Any ideas?

I found out what it was.... And I'm an idiot. I was fixing my dad's X58 comp, and found 2 other dead boards, so when I finally got it working, I threw OCCT on it, and let it go for a few hours.... with all the hot air going right into my folding 'rig doh.gif

@ OverK1LL: I wish I could help, but I'm probably the most inexperienced person for GPU folding there is. ):

Do you have an on-board Speaker? Or one you can put on the board? If it's the CPU, it'll give you an error code via beeps, and tell you exactly what's wrong.

The light you're talking about though, beside the DIMM slots, is it to the bottom left of them? If so, that's the CPU_LED according to: http://images.anandtech.com/doci/4019/P8P67%20PRO_2D_H_x.jpg

A fourm of people with the same issue- and they all seem to think it's the CPU at fault, or a motherboard to CPU interface issue (a bent pin, etc)- but there was no resolution, and everyone more or less said it was the motherboard. -- http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20110128022120566&board_id=1&model=P8P67+PRO&page=1&SLanguage=en-us

Sorry I couldn't be of more help ):

[EDIT] Looked some more, and came up with this: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18251679 Almost everyone is saying it's the mobo.

The only ASUS boards I go with now, are the Sabertooth line..... I've had a pair of bad Maximus IV Extreme-Z, and 2 bad P6T Deluxe V2s.

http://www.overclock.net/t/1279525/is-it-the-motherboard-or-the-cpu

I can't find the extra speaker for the speaker pins on the bottom of the board but, like I thought all along I think it's the board.

Ok so with the stock Heatsink and fan no DIMMs, no HDD's, no SATA connections, no graphics cards, etc. and with only the 24 pin motherboard connector I get the cpu fan to spin up on the heatsink as well as the CPU LED. If I plug the EATX12V rail in I get no lights and no fan spin.

Anyone recommend a good board for say ~$200 I need to go to compusa in a few minutes to get a few things anyways, so I'll see if there is anything there I guess.

I've always had good luck with Sabertooth boards (I've got the P67 and X79- and you can't really go wrong with a 5 year warrenty), and I've also never seen a bad Gigabyte UD3 or UD5 board (From personal experience- That's only about ~5 boards though and only 3 years on the oldest one)
