Big Bang Theorists - Page 305

Well about how much are we talking about for a full loop? Aroundor upwards of $175 for just the rad right?

As for CoolerMaster Vx series I still don't trust them. My CoolerMaster V6 said it was socket 1155 compatible but the mounting kit shorted out ASUS motherboards like nobodies business. Lost five motherboards, processors, and graphics cards due to that crap. It cost me my golden cpu too  5.1 GHz @ 1.43v IIRC, I have the validation here somewhere QvQ.

Those RASA kit's are surprisingly alot cheaper than I'd expected since I'd been seeing just rads going for $150 easy.

I'd so love to get a RASA kit but $169...

A RASA Kit is considered a custom loop, mate.

[EDIT] Sorry, I'd have expanded, but I was in a raid group tongue.gif

The RX240 / RX360 is actually an exceptionally good rad. Enough that the kit is pretty much the best bang for buck custom WC loop out there. If you want, I've a couple of RX360 rads, and a Res/Pump (though everyone seems to hate them for whatever reason) that we could look into pricing out for ya if you'd like, and all you'd need to order is the CPU Block, though I don't know about your wanting new vs used. I'm still of a mind that 240 rads are the best, since few cases have the ability to mount a 360 rad internally.

Anyway, a RASA RS or RX240 kit would be the best way to go IMO. See if you can find a US dealer that does what Dazmode.com up here in Canada does- Meaning, changes the res/pump combo out for a D5 pump and a regular res. Seems to be quite a bit better overall from what I understand.

If you plan on changing out the parts in the computer at least marginally often, and keeping it at a mild OC, I'd suggest getting the H100. If you want to always have pushed OCs, just get the RASA RX240 kit (Idealy with the Raystorm CPU Block to future proof it), and call it a decade.

As far as I'm aware there isn't anyone around that does that here at least here in town though there's probably some in Tampa,Tallahassee, Orlando, Miami, or Atlanta but all of those are 3-8 hours away.

How much you willing to part with them for? Also how used are we talking?

Two of the only places I've dealt with that seem to have a good selection are online frozencpu.com and directron.

What's the major difference between the RS versus RX besides price? I might be able to swing $130 but if the

rx is much better I'll figure something out I suppose...

http://www.frozencpu.com/search.html?mv_profile=keyword_search&mv_session_id=d2k8G9mn&searchspec=XSPC+Rasa&go.x=3&go.y=19

Also I wouldn't be able to also get the raystorm block but it should still work with my socket right?

My Vertex 4 fully packed it in. Didn't recognize as a SATA device or anything at the comp store. I love direct replacement!!

Reinstalling W7... Again.

[EDIT] Got the replacement, and same issues. I can do anything, except game. I can fold to my heart's content on this computer, but I can't do any gaming at all. I updated my motherboard BIOS and am hopeful that it solves the problem. I tried doing OCCT runs, and found that my GPU gets hot... But something as crappy as WoW graphics don't really push that. I've got 6 windows open, with WoW at 5760x1080, and am rocking a 73c GPU. OCCT had it up around 90c (That's been fixed now, with the addition of 2 fans tongue.gif).

The computer does a full lock up freeze. Nothing in Event Viewer, nothing anywhere to say what happened.... Just a full freeze that I need to restart for, and I only get it when I game off the SSD.

Are your C states enabled or disabled?

Also I'm stress testing my GPU's but I need to stress test both at the same time so I get the maximum possible PSU load.

Enabled. Everything (and I mean EVERYTHING) is at factory stock. I believe I found the problem. Something about the Vertex 4 makes it so that a BIOS update for my Sabertooth X79 was needed. Since I updated the BIOS, everything seems to be good biggrin.gif

Boo... Granted, you're doing better then my dad. tongue.gif 2nd week now in his new apartment, and the water-tanks above his living room for the entire building leak into it. Ceiling is cracked and drooping, floor was wood, and is warped, the building managers are doing absolutely nothing... His computer was in his living room, and he ended up having to pretty much avoid using it, he moved it out of there ASAP so he didn't have any damage to it thankfully. His only statement to me? "Well, you took the W/C loop out of it.... It just wanted it back!"

... Anyway. Tomorrow's a new month, and I need to be out of the city in 5 hours, so I'm off to sleep! Good luck to all next month! grouphug.gif
