Was trying to retrain while active, but got screwed over on that. Otherwise, I did not mind working on aircraft, but crap all the bullcrap that went on in that shop. I prefer to actually work then sit around for 12 stinking hours doing nothing or cleaning the same stupid spot for the fourth or fifth time.

Talked to the Guard rep, and they allowed me to cross train with them. So far I enjoying being over in the this Guard unit. Good thing though is they get a lot of deployments since they are a combat squadron.

On the folding note. Woot! The GTX980 showed up a day early.
Now to switch out the 7970.

Anyway, I remember some peeps where interested in my 7970 since I will be retiring it out of Black Dragon. Got the box for it somewhere plus a water block too.

That what I got plans to do tomorrow. The 980 and my two Titans should be able to push a good amount of points. Actually had one Titan doing 24/7 last month and the other fold during night time, both pushed out over 6+mil points. So, this 980 should be able to push me up to maybe 12+mil in a month. biggrin.gif Titans on a very good day can push 400k PPD together out, semi-good day 300-350k, that if I allow the 2nd Titan to fold for the whole day. They still o stock clocks too. Really need to push those bad boys up, plus get the 4770K overclocked as well.

Actually that brings me to a question. Should I try to up my 1090T's clocks since the 980 going to be paired up with it? Or will the 980 still be able to push up high with the 1090T on stock clocks.

Overclocking a CPU can improve GPU folding numbers. With my Intel CPU's after about 3.9 I didn't see an increase in PPD.

The 1090T in Black Dragon is still on stock clocks at the moment. Hmm, so upping the CPU's clock will help out. May have to finally OC the 1090T then.

That what I got plans to do tomorrow. The 980 and my two Titans should be able to push a good amount of points. Actually had one Titan doing 24/7 last month and the other fold during night time, both pushed out over 6+mil points. Found it. wink.gif

So how much gain would you say you saw when pushing your CPU clocks up? I know my 3930K seems to not like folding when the GPUs fold but I'm thinking it might be a motherboard issue of some sort.

I don't fold on my CPU's unless I am subbing for someone on the team. If that happens I will pull the GPU's and put in a GT 610 and not fold on it..

NVIDIA cards will require one thread from your CPU for each one that you are running and you should keep the thread count even. If you have backgroud tasks running that will require another thread.

If you are running an 8 threaded Intel CPU with 4 GTX's you are looking at 2 threads.
