I was a flight control technician and sometimes those in charge wanted the ability to send someone in the back of an F-16B to the location where it aircraft aborted.
I bet that pilot was dropping some bricks.
Still nuts that aircraft landed intact for the most part.
Crazy picture I ever seen was what happen when a pilot forgot to drop the landing gear on a C-17 while landing. Lets say, that many Crewchiefs and SheetMetal peeps where unhappy those days. Heck, bet even Hydro peeps where pissed off as well.
Also note to self, don't go typing after trying to study another language like German. Keep messing up and switching up words this whole day.
