Hhhhm, so it does. Yup, that's why I only read the manual. The stuff entered on the website is just data entry for someone, easy to make a mistake. The manuals are super proof-read and it's rare to find a mistake there.


Just in case, I posted on the ASUS forums to see if there is some sort of trick to unlock it, or at least, bring it to their attention so maybe they fix the website.

I appreciate the post on the Asus's forum but ive been there done that and got no response on how to fix the problem. I also emailed them directly and they have yet to respond its been 2 weeks. Right now im so fed up with ASUS I've acutally already boutgh a gigabyte 945pl motherboard some ddr2 ram and a new pci-e video card. im just gonna ditch this p5vd1-x board. Thanx for all your help.

No problem, that's why we are all here. I have never had trouble with ASUS, either with quality or contacting them, so I just wanted to give it a try.

Glad to hear you went ahead and got a new board, just too bad, I think you would have been happy with a P5LD2 since you went with a 945 chipset board. But I can understand how you are feeling. you know what they say, it takes 5 hours to gain a loyal customer, and 5 seconds to lose one.

Lmao everyone hates via chipsets....I'm overclocked to 2.9 on this pt880 chipset right now. I love this chipset, the only thing it needs is pci/agp locks...and they added that into the ultra version of this chipset.
