Valve tries to change how games are sold

VALVE IS IN THE news again with two new goodies, SiN Episode 1: Emergence and Half-Life 2: Episode One . Both will be familiar to most FPS gamers, SiN being a continuation of the older game SiN, and Half-Life2 being an add-on for, well, I forget the game it was based on. Either way, the story here is not so much the releases as the paradigm shift they represent.

HL2 horrible, that game was a waste of money for me. I played the game about 15 min., I got stock in the roof and I couldn't figure out what the heck to do, got bored anyway, so I sold the game and come to find out, the person who bought it had problems registering the game on his name and then had to wait two weeks to get a new registration key.......all perfectly legal, yet Valve makes it so difficult to play.

Sorry, whenever I see the name Valve in a game box, I will most certainly NOT buy that. I understand the copyright thing but it's ridiculous when you have a perfect legal copy, yet you have to wait because the name doesn't match? WTH? Microsoft is not even have much restriction. So no Valve products for me......ever!

Just because you're don't have enough skills to move foward and go through a window does not mean that Valve sucks.

Steam is technically a good idea, if it weren't such a resource hog. I prefer to have a *full* game physically in my hands. Unfortunatly I can see more developing companies doing this to minimize costs and maximize their profits, since this is their main concern after all.

I think its pretty cool. Less waiting time, and more time to discuss what might happen in the storyline..

And Nasgul, all you need is basic problem solving and puzzle skills.. Hell it isnt really even a puzzle lol. You cannot judge a game for being stuck in the very first part, nothing even happens then. Your own fault.

ROF*****!!! Ditto. HL2 rocks. I kinda like STEAM... I'll probably buy HL2 Episode 1 through it.

I know what you mean guys but I'm more used to games where you grab stuff in the first 10 secs. and start shooting at anything that moves, games such F.E.A.R which I like but I think my favorite is UT2k4.

I'm very impatient with games that have a long story line first.
You don't get to shoot anything in F.E.A.R. for the first few minutes either... At least with HL2 you get to hack people to death.

Thats silly that you have to actually pay more than once for the same game.
