Thanks, I can take that one off my list! Actually I figured that one out as user error.

Random blue screens and memory dumps, gets worse when I OC. I'm going to run memtest86 when I get time (I've never had to use it before). Kinda frustrating but if everything worked perfect, we wouldn't have anything to do right?

You will need to update the bios.
just check the bios after you get it running and see the version thatit is at.

Well the new bios update seems to be stable (for me) ,and I had my C300 running in sata3 it was stable for a few days and crash and burn. I give up on sata 3 on board. Do you guys think a controller card would make my life better and sata3 C300 work?
I am only running 1. but plan on 2 when they drop. Will a controller card run a single SSD ? Never had one so I dont know much about them.

-I just built up an i-7 950 on the Rampage Formula! Sweet board so far. I have a couple questions though.

I just installed win7 on an ocz agility 2 90gb SSD, but when I go to hook up my 1TB storage drive and boot up, I get some message about putting proper media into my boot device (DVD drive I guess) and rebooting. I have my SSD selected as second boot device. Am I missing something here?

FIXED!!

after doing some googling, I found some SSD tweaks and got the updated intel storage driver, got it cranking now and my other two HDD's are working fine for storage drives!!

Update:

ok all drives are working, got my SSD tweaked, trim is working etc. super fast but I noticed in my bios post screens it's running at 3gb/s, I have it connected with a 6gb cable into one of the red sata ports. I think there may be a setting in the Drive Xpert section of bios but I'm not sure?

I'll probably be picking this up also. Too bad it isn't on sale this coming Black Friday.

Hi,
Just joined the forums today
Noticed the talk re the Formula and needed to ask some newby questions as I just got this board via my sister who was on her way here (UK) for thanksgiving------I know it's not traditional here.
But anyway I could not help but ask if she might bring one seemed to good an opportunity to miss
Well, I have ordered an i7 950 and some crucial Dominator 6gb memory which I hope is good?
Thing is , I have a creative xfi sound card so would I be better using that than the onboard version?
Any views or advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Stuart.

Well yeah it's going to be better, the onboard sound is emulated by a realtek chip, so it's not a true xfi. Also I think you have corsair ram not crucial...i don't think crucial have a dominator line. I could be wrong.

Hi all, I am new to the forum. Just like to know some issues about my asus rampage III formula motherboard.

When the system boots up it goes to a bios screen where it says "Jimicron Technology Corp. pci express to sata II host controller ROM v1.07.14
Detecting Drivers: Done :no drivers found"

Is this a problem and how can I resolve it?

I used an Intel 80GB SSD to install the Windows 7 ultimate 64bit version and has currently hooked it up to one of the SATA 6.0 Gb/s sockets and the other SATA 6.0 Gb/s to my WD Black 1TB where my games are installed.

Is this okay, or do I have to use 2 of the regular SATA 3.0 Gb/s, sokets for this purpose.
I feel that I do not get the full assured speed from the red sockets.

Please advice. Thank you in advance.
