What does NewEgg do with RMAs?
They send them back to the manufacturer for testing. Once it has been deemed functional, the manufacturer may send it back to Newegg to sell open box.

I'm in the process of finishing my build list and need to figure out if #1 it looks OK and what ram would be best. I would like to add either 8GB or 12GB, I don't update very often and I enjoy overclocking.

It's been hard to find people with this mb with 8GB or more that are overclocking to get a sense of what works well with this mb.

I will use this pc for 50% gaming &
50% video editing

Asus Rampage III Formula
I7 950
H70 Cooler
OCZ 90GB SSD
WD 500GB to 1TB suggestion?
Win 7 64bit
Cool Master 922 Case
2 X EVGA GTX470 Superclocked
Cool Master 922 Case
Power Supply suggestion?

Thanks!

I was thinking of a similar setup. So I'll keep an eye on what people say.

Also with a lot of video editing. Wouldn't a 1TB be better for storing the large amounts of video?

Normally I would say yes however I'm working with smaller films/files. Once I'm done working with them I typically output them to external storage.

Thanks,

Will you be doing anything else besides gaming and editing. Storing music? Photos? If your just gaming and editing. I would say 500 is fine. If your doing other stuff get a 1TB. And that is dependant upon what you can get for your money.

Any trusted or recommended WD part number for either 500gb or 1TB?

Hoping that someone will have a ram suggestion as this is the one area left to decide on? Thanks in advance!

I considered buying OB as well, but I was dissuaded by the 30 day (or 90 day?) warranty limitation.

I ended up buying this board from another enthusiast and I have the remainder of his 3-year warranty. It came with everything and is in good condition.

hypers/dom gt/ridgeback are some ideas. Not sure why you want an odd 8GB, I'd go either 6 or 12.

with an X58 board, you need to go tri-channel, either 3x2 GB or some other combination. 2x2 kits are only suitable for the 1156 Socket boards.
