I was debating whether to get 2000+ or just stick with 1600, but decided to go the latter with tighter timings.

I just bought this G.Skill Pi series: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16820231352 They also have a cheaper version with CAS 7 and only 1.5v

6-8-6-24 timings and they rock. I know people laugh at WEI score, but they get a 7.9 with my 4ghz cpu overclock and the ram at stock settings. I also just benched my machine(sig rig) and the pcmark vantage score was 17449.0

I don't know much about benching yet and I'm still learning, but looked like a good score for this machine. I also managed to overclock the GTX470 to core 750 shader 1500 and memory 1750, stable in furmark with max temp of 81c all with the fan set at 75%.

This is one bad ass mobo though. RAM will depend mostly on the cpu, but most people seem to have the best OC results with 1600mhz.

jjshabadoo, I searched everywhere for those yet couldn't find any for sale. There was one on eBay (I think), but the seller wanted almost $200 which was ridiculous. Those Pi's I bought seem to have the same specs as those Redlines that's why I bought them.

As you can see, I joined today to see if someone could help me getting by R3F to work without crashing in W7 Ultimate (x64). The board has not been OC'd in anyway (yet), running the 0505 BIOS. Oh - and I've read every post in this thread first

The system is running a i7-950, 6GB of PC3-12800 Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D, and a XFX HD6870.

The board will run solid in W7U in 32-bit mode, but once I install W7U in 64-bit I get random shutdowns after about 20-25 min of uptime - so fast that you can't see a BSOD. The mini dump files indicate a '141' error. I've run a couple of memory diagnostics overnight and all seems well.

Temps all seem within what others have observed: CPU 40 - MB 25 - IOH 44 - ICH 38

I've reinstalled W7U-64 about 8 times now and get the same issue - even without installing any drivers. I'm leaning toward RAM issues... but that's a hunch.

Could anyone offer hints/help with how you got your machine stable upon initial setup with Win 7 Ultimate x64? Or - is it time to start RMA'ing piece by piece?

Thanks for your help.

Is there a BIOS tweak guide for our mobo? I was using AMD for a while, so I kinda forgot how more complex (and confusing) Intel boards can be.

So have you switched out the RAM already? Might wanna post your BIOS template so we can see the settings that you're using.

Btw, since this is your first post, welcome to OCN.

Nope, since the R3F is fairly new, I haven't seen one yet. Well, not here anyway. Maybe we should start one.

Hi, I am using this motherboard with same RAM's you are using with Win 7 ultimate 64bit. I have not so experienced any of those issues you have mentioned here. My Graphic card is GTX295 with an additional 8800GT for phys x. I have the same processor and BIOS as yours.

Your situation is strange..

After my best Google-Fu and reading and messing with this thing for 8 more hours, I'm going to chalk this up to bad/unsupoorted RAM and see what happens.

Even with running just one stick of RAM, the same mysterious BSODs appear even at idle. I even swapped out one (2GB) for another and the same BSODs occur.

I notice that on the Rampage III Formula RAM QVL, the Corsair TR3X6G1600C8D is listed with the addition of Version 2.1. My TR3X6G1600C8D modules has version 1.7 on the sticker.

I'm going to do a return on those and buy something other than Corsair and see what happens in a couple of days, and will let you know. I'm glad the forum exists to have a place to bounce ideas off each other and hopefully this post will help others in the same situation.
