That was the highest I had mine too at one point and you're right about upping the BCLK instead of the multi.. if you look at most of the options on the board, most of them are geared toward helping stability at high BCLK setting.

Can anyone post their voltages please with this board and i7-950? I am kind of tired chasing this number. Oh HT is off and LLC is set to full...
Hey Davit, since this is your first post.. welcome to OCN. To answer your question, we'll just have to wait for someone with a i7-950 to shime in. I can post mine but it's for a Gulftown.

I bricked my board while I was try to get it stable @ 4,33GHz, UnCore @ 3,6GHz and ram @ 1800C7.

I got through 30 runs of LinX but during the Memtest it just shut down, I tried to restart it but nothing happened, switch of the power and on again and when I pushed the start button, fans started for a split second and stopped and nothing more happened, lights on the board seems okay but it wouldn´t start .

First I thought that my CPU have throw in the towel since I had to push some high voltage through the IMC but it wasn´t.

I tried the same gear together with my R2E and it worked just fine.

Conclusion was, CPU fine , board bricked .

@Davit

Might need more QPI/DRAM Core voltage, since you push that high Bclk you probably have rather high UnCore frequency, what´s your UnCore frequency?

You might try to set CPU Differential amplitude to 1000mv, helps to get higher Bclk stable.

Thanks for the replies guys.
Sorry to hear about your board Ghostleader! That sucks, but I guess if you are not breaking parts, you're not trying hard enough...

Well I got her 4.4ghz stable... cheated(no HT), I am not happy.
23X192
Ram 1539Mhz 8-8-8-24-2T
Cpu Volt - 1.40000
PLL - 1.88150
QPI/DRAM - 1.35
IOH - 1.20575
ICH - 1.20575
Dram - 1.65625
LLC - full
Rest auto.

Without HT my temps at the highest were 58*C with 22*C room temp during 8hr prime blend.

SO now I need to figure out how to add the HT and get a higher mem frequency... it is a gaming rig only so I don't really need HT, nor higher mem... then again no one needs a 450HP jeep, but it is still good to have.

Should I up QPI/VTT from 1.35??? Does my cpu vcore seem high?
I really want to get HT back if I can. temps with HT on were around 69*C, but I was only able to run it for a sort time until one of the cores failed...

Thanks again fellas,
Any help is much appreciated.

*EDIT - I am priming again with same voltages, no HT, only memory set to 1924Mhz, which is still under 2000Mhz rated by corsair, so we will see.
I was able to run 3DMark Vantage with 4.4ghz HT on +1924Mhz mem, passed with a score of 32478! But failed prime... so sad lol.

@Davit

Thanks, you´re welcome

If you need 1,40 for 4,4 without HT, I quess that you probably are at the limit for your chip, consider that it´s under water and you´re about to break 70C.

Running ram @ 2000 is very tough for any X58 board, consider that your UnCore frequency jumps up to at least 4,0GHz and to able to run that you probably need to push QPI/DRAM Core voltage to 1,50+.

If you run your ram @ 1924 and you´re not stable you probably need more QPI/DRAM Core voltage.

You can test your to see if your IMC and ram are stable with HCI Design Memtest, run as many instances as you run threads and divide the amount of free ram with those instances and let it run for at least an hour.

Example: 8 threads and 5,0Gb of free ram > 8 instances with 625Mb of ram load each.

About your core voltage, a bit on the high side for a 24/7 setup.

Man I love this board not only is it good looking it's a great performer, got my 970 to 4.250ghz no sweat. Only needed 1.2875vcore. Using 25x170. Oh and that's on air as my loop leaked and didn't want the downtime lol.

Hey Ghostleader I think you were spot on QPI deal.
Got 4.4Ghz 23X192 HT On mem @ 1539 20 passes in LinX @ 25000
CPU - 1.4000
PLL - 1.88150
QPI/DRAM - 1.37500
DRAM - 1.65625
IOH - 1.20575
ICH - 1.20575

I hear you about temps for sure. 110cfm fans on my rads are helping though. Here is a screen

So do I leave it or do I try to get lower CPU Vcore and if so what else do I change????

Nice work

Try to lower your vcore and nothing else.

If you only get up to 52C, I would say it´s pretty good, I see no reason to worry.
