so i tried my settings for the P6X58D-E on the rampage, and it couldn't pass the 3rd run of IBT.

I pumped more VCore into the MB, the temps weren't going past 60 on IBT load, but still bluescreened.

The different between Memtest 86 and HCI Design Memtest are that Memtest86+ only test the memory and HCI Design Memtest put stress on both the memory and the IMC, so I belive it´s still the IMC that can´t take the stress.

Your still run your memory at 1600 which give you a UnCore of 3,2GHz, so you still put a lot of stress on the IMC.

What is you QPI/DRAM Core voltage?

Does it fail both at stock and OC after 6hrs?

When you run stock, is it with Bclk 133?
So when I am testing things stock everything is on auto(I just hit load optimized defaults) except the memory which is set to 1,65625v. BCLK is @ 133.
HCI memtest was failing within an hour. My plan was to run it for 6hrs, but didn't make it that far.
So if the IMC can't take a stress of 3.2Ghz what good is this chip? Does that mean I need to RMA the CPU itself???

What is your QPI voltage at? I had to give mine 1.375 to get her stable @ 4.2Ghz with HT on.

@Davit

Hmmm, so you really didn´t know what your QPI/DRAM Core voltage was during that stock run then?

What happens if you set it to 1,375, the same as you hade when you ran 4,2GHz with HT on, I presume that it was with ram at 1600 and UnCore at 3200.

RMA, naa, don´t think so, for what reason?

You can make 4,2GHz with HT on it seems, not 4,4GHz with HT on but 4,4 with HT off, not bad and maybe that´s the limit for your CPU.

Try to sell it and buy another one.

You said earlier that you are a gamer, so can you game for hours without hickup or not at 4,4GHz HT off, ram at 1600 and UnCore at 3200, if you can I say it´s pretty stable.

What´s your goal?
What´s stable for you?

I had it set at 1.28175 QPI

This was even with 4.0 OC, not even 4.2.

was running 191 Blck X 21 Multi

Just a heads up, the manual said the QPI LLC jumper should be set in the on position by default but when I checked it was set to the off position.

im guessin this isnt the right topic to ask for noob advice on overclockin on this motherboard? lol

Anyone knows what are the amps of the fan connectors on the board?

I want to plug in a couple of Scythe AP-30 or 31 (for H70 CPU cooler) but they use 1.5Amps or so at least on start up.

I tried to find the Amp specs for the mobo, but I did not find any.

I've got 2x Gelid Wing12 PL PWM fans plugged into the CPU fan header with a 4 pin y cable and they both work fine. I assume being an enthusiast board they should have designed them with performance fans in mind especially for push/pull configs.

Ghost
OK QPI voltage during stock runs was 1.23, cpu at 1.17(!!!)
Ram will not pass HCI memtest even running at 1066Mhz... That is half the speed it is speced for. This time around my BCLK was only 2000Mhg... and HCI still failed.
I primed it with 4.2 and HT on for 12hrs, than for 17hrs. She failed two cores after 14hrs @4.2ghz HT on, mem 1600. But I mean anything over 12hrs who cares right?
HCI failed consistently within 30min to 2hrs, but failed all the same. From what I read if it fails with OC something isn't stable. When it fails at less than stock speeds something is off.
I talked to corsair tech, guy told me to RMA the kit I have. So that is the first step.

No goal really.
I am a gamer, but I like to push things to limit. Having system stable means that it will not be only good at a single task, though gaming is all she sees, but potentially other applications.
MY Bad Company 2 was crashing all the time with no apparent reason, so I decided to replace all the hardware except the memory. Now something tells me I should have started with memory....

Try upping the QPI to 1.35 and set blck to 200. You might need to up the cpu voltage a tad, I had to, if you get her stable start lowering voltages.

HUH?! WHERE?!

EDIT. MMJA plus rep to you, mine was off. W TF?! It said it was enabled by default in my little asus book so I never even checked...

God damnit!!!
There are entirely too many variables in this ****.

Side note, I cant believe w.t.f gets ***...
