seems like they are not used at full potential speed maybe ?
What you see in the picture is the SPD information, not which frequency your ram run at.

You can use CPUz to check your ram frequency and timing (Memory tab), you should see it in the bios also.

I quess you mean the ATX connection, the R3F only have one, hmmm , wait, you got the R3E, well if you don´t intend to do some extreme OC you only need one.

The R3E only have one USB connector for front panel.

It´s up to you if you want to turn those things off, you really don´t gain anything from doing that. One thing you can turn off is the onboard SATA Marvell, it speeds up the boot somewhat.

Since you have a M3E, you might consider to checkout this thread, Rampage III Extreme X58 Information thread .

@tnt23

You´re welcome

No need to be sorry.

They are rated 2000 8-9-8 24 2T with 1,65v and that´s your XMP profile.

In order to get them to run 1600 you have to set that manual in the bios and the thing is that the UnCore frequency (L3 Cache and integrated memory controller,IMC) most be twice the ram frequency on the Bloomfield.

Consider that max official ram frequency are 1066MHz and UnCore frequency are 2133MHz and when you OC the ram to 1600 the UnCore is going to run at 3200MHz, quite a big jump, in order to get it to run stable you need to increase the QPI/DRAM Core voltage, how much, well that depends on how good UnCore your CPU have.

You don´t need to rise the Bclk in order to run ram at 1600 but if you want to run ram at 2000 you need to rise the Bclk and your UnCore frequency going to be 4000GHz and going to need ~1,50v or more to be stable and that´s not a comfortable voltage level for a 24/7.

The gain is not big between 1600 and 2000, so a suggest to run 1600 with a tighter timing like 7-7-7 21.

I don´t know how high OC you want but a 4,0 - 4,2 with a Bclk of 200 and ram at 1600C7 is a good start and shouldn´t be to hard to reach.

There´s a lot of OC guide out there, just look them up and get started

yes DAvit i am running one as win 7 system disk in ahci mode...
its pure butter...though i admit its hard to tell the difference beetween the vertex 2 i tested on xp

Only issue is i dont see any smart info or temperature with HDtune pro and crystal disk info

so i didnt try running a benchmark

other issue i just encountered on while pluggin a old 200 gig maxtor on sata II port 1 of extreme III mobo hooked to the first port of the corsair 800d hotswap bay : Windows 7 won't start right before the password promt when i select ahci in the bios...
back to ide and im in...
curious ... anybody got a clue ?

Thanks man, from what I was reading on newegg it supports smart, but I also was reading about people having issues with smart when using 0002 firmware on the drive.

As for your problem when you are in through IDE, in windows 7, check and see of AHCI is enabled in registry.:
HLM - System - Current Control Set - Services - msahci. "Start" valuedata should be set to 0 instead of 3 I believe. Change it, restart and change bios to AHCI and boot again.
That is the problem I had with one of my drives running windows 7.

So you notice almost no difference between vertex 2 and c300 in sataIII??? That is odd....
BTW Corsair 800D hot-swap bays do not support SATAIII. Even if you use a SataIII cable and plug it in one of the SataIII ports on your mobo you still will be running at SataII speed if you are using hot-swap bays. You have to bypass hot-swap bay to get a SATAIII speed. Pardon me if it is an old news to you, just wanted to make sure that your C300 is plugged in to SataIII port directly, so we are comparing apples to apples.

Yesterday when I rebooted the R3F stopped at "Detect Memory", well, I thought, here we go again.

Long story short, it turned out to be a issue with the QPI LL switch, I had it enabled when it happened, switch it to disabled and the R3F booted okey.

Tested it again with QPI LL enabled and the same happened, stopped at "Detect Memory", I had the QPI LL enabled on my first R3F also and that one just die in the middle of a HCI Design Memtest session.

I wonder if there is a issue with this QPI LL when it´s enabled , what you say guys, do you run with it disabled or enabled?

@Ghostleader

I just learned about QPI LL switch few pages back, so I haven't run the mobo with switch enabled yet. It is set to enabled, but since I am waiting on memory still I can't vouch for it yet...
I can say more once my mem gets here.
So in essence my post is as helpful as a snow plow in the summer....

What are your voltages for QPI and vdimm set in BIOS vs clocks? Maybe the memory detect sequence pulls voltage down enough to error with QPI LLC on.
