Should the Big Typhoon be rigid?

Thread Starter
If I push a little bit on the BT it can easily move (as in bend). I'm wondering if this is normal or should it be very rigid? Maybe I didn't tighten enough? I've posted this in both Intel and AMD cooling cus its not processor dependent. Thanks!

mine moves a little bit, but i think its more of the cushion underneath bending along with the board flexing a little bit. Mine is scrwed down as hard as i can with my hands and ive never had a problem with temps.

Same here, mine "wiggles" a little bit too, but since my temps are low, I'm pretty sure that is normal for all BigTyphoons.

I just put mine on Friday and I tried tighting as much as I could with my hands. When I try turning it it can wiggle a little bit but seems pretty stable. I don't think I have all the screws the same tightness because the top left screw is very hard to get to. When I get some time to start playing with it I'll overclock it and see how much the temp changes when I tighten it more.

The mobo is bending. It is not a bad thing, just don't bend it too far!

I have a Tunic Tower 120 and it "wiggles" as well and my temps are exceptional.

I think it is just a little bit of slack caused by the heatpipes since they are so tall.

I have seven of them on my folding rigs and they all move alittle. its normal.

Your motherboard can bend by doing this is that bad can it break the PCB?
It won't bend if you don't poke it...
