Perhaps it's voltage stabiltiy. Don't know what 500W PS he has so given it may be a Generic, it may not be up to task!

Thread Starter
well i lowered the ht to 2.5 and it made it possible for me to clock it to 2.6 Mhz with out changing voltage on anything or putting a divider on the ram. the FSB is up to 236 and could go higher i think but i decided to stop there because i'm worried that i do'tn knwo what i'm doing and because i have the stock heat sink and fan cooling my cpu. Thanks for the help everyone. Any sugestions on what i should get to air cool this CPU?

The Thermaltake Big Typhoon is pretty sweet......with your stock hsf...you can push it, just make sure temps stay under 50C at full load.

run OCCT or prime95 to get your cpu to full load and keep and eye on the temps.

I just installed a BT and it has reduced my temps by like 5-10C at least.
