AMD can preform 9 cycles a second and Intel does 6 cycles a second. this is how they can have lower ghz's and still preform as well as an Intel at a higher ghz.

Not cycles per second, that's a Hz. If it was 9 ops cycles per second it'd be 9 Hz, not 2 Ghz.

It's operations per cycle, or for every cycle the processor goes through, it can do 9 operations or commands.

Thats a better explination, and AMD has alot more L1 cache which is super fast and very expensive too.

That makes me extremely angry!! My last computer was a 3400 eMachine and so i decided to build an Intel rig becuase i though the more ghz was faster but i guess i was wrong..... I still dont understand how a single core is faster than duel..

The dual core would be faster only on apps that use both. That's why the single core can still be faster. Unless the app uses both cores than it's nothing more than a single core cpu.

plus AMD has the onboard memory controller so it reads from memory and gets info quicker opposed to Intel whos is on the northbridge which causes a little lag sinceit has a longer path
